USL Betting – Championship Top Games for Aug 26 & 30

Written by on August 25, 2020

With the 2020 USL season inching closer towards the completion of its shortened, 13-game regular season, it’s time to take a look at the most value-packed matchups on the round 9 docket. With three teams looking like excellent wagers this coming week, let’s find out who they are and why they’re offering the best value on the Round 9 schedule.

USL Championship Top Games of the Week, Highlights, and Predictions (Aug 26 & 30)

Charleston Battery (4-2-2) vs Miami FC (1-3-2)

Miami is sitting in last place in group H, but they haven’t lost any of their last three matches and come into this matchup off a 2-1 win over Charlotte on Sunday that was their first victory of the season. Charleston is in second place in group H and the Battery come into this affair off consecutive wins, including their emphatic 3-0 spanking of North Carolina on Wednesday. Miami has been limited to just six goals in six matches while allowing 15. Charleston has put 13 goals in the back of the net while allowing eight in eight matches. While Romario Williams has been fantastic in scoring five goals for Miami, Charleston has gotten four goals from Zeiko Lewis and a pair of goals from Mauro Cichero and Nique Daley. Charleston gets the win in this one based on their far superior defense and more balanced offense.

Louisville City FC (4-3-1) vs Indy Eleven (6-2-1)

Louisville is in third place in the group E standings having won two straight while going unbeaten over their last three. Louisville destroyed Sporting Kansas City 4-1 on Wednesday. Louisville has scored 11 goals in eight matches while allowing eight goals defensively.  Indy Eleven is sitting atop the group E standings and they come into this matchup off a hard-fought 1-0 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday, Aug. 15. Indy has scored 15 goals in nine matches while allowing just seven goals defensively.  While Louisville star Cameron Lancaster has been outstanding in scoring six goals in eight matches, Indy’s Tyler Pasher has been even better in scoring a eight goals in eight matches. Indy Eleven is statistically better at both ends of the pitch and that’s why they’ll win and cover the chalk.

Los Angeles Galaxy II (3-3-0) vs Portland Timbers II (0-7-0)

Los Angeles is in fourth place in the group B standings as they look to snap a three-game skid that includes their narrow 2-1 loss against Orange County SC on Saturday. Portland is in last place in the group A standings and is the only winless team in the USL. The Timbers II put up a great effort the last time out but still ended up on the wrong end of a hard-fought 2-1 loss against Sacramento on Saturday. While the Galaxy II are huge favorites to get it done in this affair, I’m going with Portland to somehow find a way to get the draw in this affair. The Timbers II have suffered a pair of one-goal losses over their last three games and that tells me they are going to show up in a big way against a Galaxy II tam that is in the midst of their own struggles.
