Formula E Betting Analysis and Prediction for the 2022 Berlin E-Prix

Formula E Betting Analysis and Prediction for the 2022 Berlin E-Prix

The FIA Formula E World Championship is going back to Berlin this week. Berlin has been the championship race for quite a while in Formula E and teams will be looking to steal big points in a championship that never slows down.

Formula E is the FIA’s electric car racing league and is headlined by the Mercedes-EQ Formula E team which leads the team championship standings. This race will take place at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport on the concrete of the giant apron on the tarmac. Drivers will have to deal with the extremely grippy concrete and be careful with their tires and strategies.

Formula E has 11 teams and 22 drivers, whereas Formula 1 has ten teams and 20 drivers. The Formula E series is known for its high-speed action, interesting ruleset, and net carbon-zero footprint. The drivers will race on both Saturday and Sunday, with the former being a counter-clockwise race and the latter being clockwise. Let’s have a look at the upcoming Berlin E-Prix so you can get ready to place your bets against the Formula E Odds.

Formula E Betting Analysis for the 2022 Berlin E-Prix Race

Formula E Championship Betting Odds and Predictions

  • Stoffel Vandoome 7/4
  • Jean Eric Vergne 9/4
  • Mitch Evans 4/1
  • Robin Frijins 5/1
  • Edoardo Mortara 9/1
  • Nyck de Vries 10/1

The Championship leader right now is Mercedes’ Stoffel Vandoorne who holds a six point lead at 81 points. Although the Belgian driver leads the pack, there are three other drivers that could potentially steal his championship by the end of the season. Jean Eric Vergne (75 pts), Mitch Evans (72 pts), and Robin Frijins (71 pts) are all within 10 points of Vandoorne and will look to best him at Tempelhof.

Nyck De Vries is the reigning Formula E champion, but I don’t expect much out of him the rest of the year. He may win a race here and there but I doubt it will be enough to get back into championship contention. De Vries is a 10/1 (+1000) underdog to win the Championship.

Of all the racers in the top of the field, I like Mitch Evans to win the Championship. At 4/1 (+400) Evans has massive value considering he’s won more races than the Vergne in front of him and also has the best odds of the group. Vergne at 9/4 (+225) isn’t bad but I don’t like his inability to win races. Vergne did however win the Championship in both 2017 and 2018, but will have to really perform spectacularly the rest of the year to win again.

Formula E Berlin Betting Prediction

Although I don’t believe Vergne will win the championship, he has been racing well recently. He finished third in a tough race at Monaco, and now will look to win his first race of the year in Berlin. Vergne has a chance to do it, but he’ll have to get around Vandoorne and Evans to get there.

Evans was clean and precise in his driving at round 6 in Monaco and finished second, only 1.2 seconds behind Vandoorne. Both have been great this year but I believe it’s time for Evans to make his mark. If he can win the first race of the weekend he’ll be ahead of Vandoorne in the standings and can make a push for the end of the season.

I expect Vandoorne and Mercedes to work hard to maintain their first place spot, but all the teams will struggle on the coarse concrete of Tempelhof. It will be interesting to see who’s strategy holds up the best, but I think Evans will be able to take the victory in round 7 this weekend.
