Formula E Cape Town E-Prix Betting Analysis: Top Drivers for the Weekend

Formula E Cape Town E-Prix Betting Analysis: Top Drivers for the Weekend

We are 4 races into the 2023 Formula E season, which represents one quarter of the races we will see this season. If one thing has become apparent in the early going, it’s that things don’t appear to be going as many of us expected, with the preseason favorites not really showing up at the moment. With so much of the season still to come, though, we could still see things change up rather quickly. For now, our focus in on nothing more than the next race up, which is the Cape Town E-Prix in South Africa. That one is set to go on Saturday, so let’s take a quick look at the Formula E top 4 drivers analysis in the standings.

Formula E Betting Preview for the 2023 Cape Town E-Prix Race

Pascal Wehrlein

We mentioned that this season has been a little unexpected to this point, with the performance of Wehrlein certainly high on the surprise scale. This is his 5th season as a driver in Formula E, with his best performance to date coming last season when he finished 10th overall. There wasn’t much to suggest that he might compete for a world championship this season, but he has made a staller start to the 2023 season, with a pair of wins already under his belt. He has not finished worse than 4th thus far, so it might be an idea to ignore his past performances and focus on what he is doing now.

Jake Dennis

In his first full season at this level, Dennis delivered a very solid performance, finishing 3rd overall in 2021. The feeling was that he would build on that and delver a winning season in 2022, but he fell well short of expectations, finishing 6th overall last season. He failed to win a single race last year, but he remedied that quickly by winning Round 1 in Mexico. He has a pair of podium finishes, too, but had a poor run in the last race, finishing 16th in that one. Look for a return to form here.

Jean-Eric Vergne

This is a driver who has been one of the best in the sport since its inception, winning back-to-back world championships a few years back. Since then, it has been a little up and down for Vergne as he looks to get back to his best. After a disappointing 10th place finish in 2021, Vergne did put in a better showing last season, finishing 4th overall. Given his pedigree, though, we are all expecting more from him. He is off to a very decent start this season, getting his first win of the year in the previous race.

Sebastien Buemi

If you’ve only recently started following Formula E, seeing Buemi in 4th after 4 races might come as a surprise, but history will tell you otherwise. During his first 6 seasons with Formula E, Buemi won a world championship and didn’t finish worse that 4th overall during that stretch. It has been slim picking for him over the past couple of seasons, but we are seeing a definite return to form in 2023. He is well off the pace at the moment and still looking for a win, but fortunes can change quickly.
