NCAAF 2020 Season Week 10 SU Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on November 2, 2020

This season is going to be the toughest yet for the playoff committee, as they are going to have a lot to unpack when it comes time to pick their 4 playoff teams. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered, such as the possibility of putting one team ahead of another despite having played fewer games, which could become an issue with the Big Ten. Given the strength of the SEC, might we see a 2-loss team be given the nod at the end of the regular season? What about teams outside of the Power 5? Do they deserve more of a chance this time around? There is still a lot of football to be played before these questions are answered, and things may sort themselves out before we get to that point. For now, let’s focus on our SU picks for Week 10 so you can make your bets and cash in against their NCAAF odds.

Georgia Bulldogs over Florida Gators

Despite there still being a few weeks to play, I think we could potentially be looking at the game that decided the outcome of the SEC East. This one, which will be played in Jacksonville, is always a little special, but with so much on the line, it is the biggest game of the season for both teams. What we are looking at here is a great offense going against one of the best defenses in the league, but which unit will hold sway? Florida are great on the offensive side of the football, but they are leaky on defense. Georgia is ridiculously tough to break down, but they need more out of their offensive unit. I think the Bulldogs do just enough to get the win and take a strangle hold on the East.

Pittsburgh Panthers over Florida State Seminoles

After a solid start to the season, the Pittsburgh Panthers have seen things go south very quickly and are coming into this game on a 4-game losing skid. Given that and the fact that they are on the road, it is perhaps not that surprising to see them in as a 2-point underdog. Florida State, meanwhile, are having a tough time putting together any sort of consistent run. After stunning the UN Tar Heels a couple of weeks ago, they followed that up with a hammering at the hands of Louisville in their last game. This one looks to be rather unpredictable, but that also makes it a fun game to play. I am going the way of the underdog here and taking Pitt to get the win on the road.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish over Clemson Tigers

This is a game that a lot of people are going to be steering clear of this weekend, but I am looking at it as an opportunity to take a bit of a chance. We already know that the Clemson Tigers are once again going to be without the services of Trevor Lawrence, as the QB continues to battle COVID. We also know that Clemson looked a little more beatable without him in the lineup, as they had to come from behind to scrape past the Boston College Eagles last weekend. This is a chance for Notre Dame to make a serious move and get to 7-0 on the season. We all know how tough the Irish are to beat at home and I think the rise up and win as the underdog.
