NCAAF 2020 Season Week 11 SU Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on November 9, 2020

Given the strange nature of this college football season, it has been tough to make predictions, although it does get a little easier with each passing week. Over the course of the first 10 weeks, we have seen some patterns begin to emerge, but there are still a few conferences that are in the very early stages of their season, which means looking a little beyond this season to find games that might be worth wagering on. Even then, it can be tricky to lean too heavily on those trends, as teams can change dramatically from season to season, bringing in new recruits to cover start players who make the jump to the NFL. It is certainly not an exact science, but we are doing all we can to bring you some winning plays. Let’s take a closer look at Week 11 as we make some straight up picks for you to bet on and cash in against their NCAAF odds.

Iowa Hawkeyes over Minnesota Golden Gophers

This season did not get off the best start for the Iowa Hawkeyes, as they suffered back to back narrow defeats to open up the season at 0-2. They snapped out of that slump in a big ways last weekend, steamrolling Michigan State for the 49-7 win in a game that they started as a 5 ½ point favorite. The question now is whether they can go on the road this weekend and build on that against Minnesota. The Golden Gophers have also stumbled out of the gate and come into this one with the same 1-2 record as the Hawkeyes. They, too, are coming off a big win, so this should be a close one. Iowa has won 7 of the last 10 meetings with Minnesota, which is why I am giving them the edge here.

Penn State Nittany Lions over Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Big Ten Conference is only 3 weeks into their season, but we are already seeing some major surprises in the early going. Other than Ohio State, the other traditional powerhouses in the conferences have not seen things go as planned. Michigan do not look great, while the Penn State Nittany Lions are also struggling, going winless through the opening 3 weeks of the season. The Lions are on the road this weekend to face Nebraska, who are 0-2 on the year. One of these two will snap out of their slump this weekend, but who will it be? The bookies have Penn State in as a modest 3-point road favorite, and while they have failed to cover in their last 4 meetings with the Cornhuskers, I still think they come away with the win.

Virginia Cavaliers over Louisville Cardinals

Given on what we have seen to this point on the season, you do have to wonder about the mindset of some teams. After all, we went through a period where it looked as though the season was going to be cancelled, while some conferences went back and forth on whether or not to play. The Virginia Cavaliers and the Louisville Cardinals look like a pair of teams struggling their way through this season, as both come into this weekend with losing record. That will not change after this game, but one of them will come away with the win. The favorite in this matchup has covered the spread in each of the last 4 meetings, and since Virginia are mild favorites at home, they look like a good pick to win.
