We have put together our own rankings, and here are #’s 10-15. Let’s get right to it so you can plan your bets against their NCAAF odds.

College Football Team Analysis Series – Top 10-15 Teams

#15 – Indiana Hoosiers

Tom Allen has done a great job of building a contending program. The Hoosiers were once laughing stocks in the Big 10, but now they’re legitimate Big 10 title contenders. The Hoosiers return 20 starters from last year’s squad. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. should be back healthy and ready to play after he missed the end of last season with an injury. Penix should have a very strong offense surrounding him.

Defensively, the Hoosiers will return one of the top units in the Big 10. Last year’s defense only gave up an average of 20 points per game. With most of that group returning, the Hoosiers should be very hard to score on.

#14 – North Carolina Tar Heels

Even though the Tar Heels lost some key pieces from last year’s high-scoring offense, Mack Brown has reloaded and should have a very good squad this season. Junior quarterback Sam Howell is an elite prospect, and he could be the first quarterback taken when he comes out. If Brown can find some suitable replacements for the two elite running backs they lost, they should have another high-powered offense.

As for the defense, the Heels will need to be better on that side of the ball. Their secondary will be the strength of their defense.

#13 – Texas Longhorns

Let the Steve Sarkisian era begin! Sam Ehlinger is now in the NFL, so Sarkisian will need to find a new quarterback to lead his offense. Texas returns some very good skill position players, and they should be able to score a lot of points. The big issue will be how to fix the defense. If Sarkisian can find a way to stop some of the high-powered offenses in the Big 12, Texas could be a contender for the conference title.

#12 – USC Trojans

Clay Helton has had some issues in Los Angeles, so he’s hoping that this team will play well and take some of the pressure off of him. Kedon Davis will be back under center for the Trojans. USC hasn’t won a Pac 12 title since 2017, and their fans really think that they have underachieved. If this team doesn’t contend for the title, it could be Helton’s job on the line.

#11 – LSU Tigers

Ed Orgeron’s team has been under scrutiny for the last few months. Orgeron needs to have a good season to take some of the attention away from the off-field issues that have surrounded the Tigers program recently. The Tigers have recruited well and should have a lot of talent. The SEC will be very tough again this season, so LSU will need to catch some breaks if they want to contend for a conference championship.

#10 – Cincinnati Bearcats

The Bearcats showed the country how good they could be when they took Georgia to the limit in their bowl game. Luke Fickell has put together a very good team that has the potential to be a playoff team. Cincinnati plays at Indiana and Notre Dame, so they have done what they need to do to get the attention of the selection committee.
