The college football regular season is still a couple of months away, but it’s never too early to start looking ahead and trying to make some predictions. The bookies have the NCAA Football odds to win the National Championship posted, with the usual cast of characters sitting atop the board as the favorites, Can the Georgia Bulldogs deliver a threepeat or are we going to see some other team bring the Dawgs dominance to an end? There is a lot of football to be played before we get to that answer, as well as a lot of teams to look at, not all of whom are in with any shot at a championship, but who might play a role in who wins it. The Arkansas Razorbacks will feel that they could be one of the teams who plays a part in how things go in the SEC, so let’s take a look at the NCAA Football betting analysis.

The Razorbacks in 2022

Coming off a 9-4 season in 2021, there were a few pundits who had the Razorbacks in as a bit of a sexy pick last season. They opened things up with 3 straight wins, including a victory over ranked Cincinnati in the season opener. It all fell apart after that, though, as they fell on 3 straight SEC games, 2 of which were in blowout fashion, and never really recovered after that.

In fairness to the Razorbacks, they had more than their fair share of injuries to contend with and were never really able to have their preferred group of starters on the field with any type of regularity. When all was said and done, they ended the regular season at 6-6, finishing things on a bit of a high with a win over Kansas in the Liberty Bowl.

Betting Odds for the Razorbacks in 2023

Let’s be honest here for a moment, the chances of Arkansas putting it all together and making a run at the National Championship seem more than a little slim. Especially when you consider the gauntlet they have to go through in the SEC. The bookies seem to be in full agreement with this assessment, as they currently have Arkansas listed at +20000 to end the season as National Champions.

With that in mind, I would also think that betting them to win the SEC West or the conference as a whole seems like a wasted bet. That doesn’t leave a ton of season betting opportunities other than the win total, which has been set at 7 ½ for the coming season. The question now is whether to go OVER or UNDER with that total.

While we mentioned that the Razorbacks had a couple of blowout losses last season, they were also on the wrong end of several close games. In fact, 4 of their losses were by 3 points or less, so they were perhaps a little unfortunate not to match their win total from 2021. The hope for this season is that they can avoid the injuries that plagued them last season. If they can do that, then I would certainly be comfortable in taking the Arkansas Razorbacks to go OVER the 7 ½ win total set for this season.
