NCAAF Ohio State Buckeyes Calendar Odds & Analysis for the 2021 Season

Given the mess that was 2020 in college football, the hope of all fans for the coming season is that we get through it without there being any major issues. So far, it looks as though all systems are go, but it does make it a little tougher to predict the coming season given that a few teams either played little or no football at all last year. Combine that with the need for the bigger teams to retool each year after the draft and you are left with making tough choices when it comes to thinking about how teams might make out. With all of that in mind, we are going to turn our attention to the Ohio State Buckeyes and how their 2021 season might shape up. So, without further ado, let’s take a dive into the Big Ten and have a look at the Buckeyes so you can plan your bets against the NCAAF odds.

The Buckeyes in 2020

In terms of the Power 5 Conferences, fewer teams had a rougher season than the Ohio State Buckeyes. It certainly didn’t help that the conference could not decide whether to cancel or play, but in the end, the Buckeyes managed just 5 regular season games, all of which they won. There was some question as to whether they had actually played enough games to be considered for the Big Ten Championship Game and the playoffs, but we all know how that turned out.

While the Buckeyes basically blew out the opposition in their 5 regular season games, they struggled a little in a 22-10 win over Northwestern in the Championship Game before getting back to business in a blowout win over Clemson in the playoffs. Their season ended by being in the wrong side of a beating in the National Championship against Alabama.

The Buckeyes Odds and Outlook for 2021

Like all the teams at the top of the heap in college football, the Buckeyes have a lot of holes to fill in the coming season. Replacing Justin Fields at QB may be the biggest of all. This is where things begin to get very interesting. Initially, the thought was that CJ Stroud would take over as QB, but there is talk that Quinn Ewers, a true freshman, might actually get the start.

No matter who gets to start under center for the Buckeyes, that QB is going to be surrounded by a ton of elite offensive talent. The O-Line, which lost several guys to the draft, should also be solid, but the reality is that there does not appear to be a definitive starter at QB for Ohio State. They open on the road against Minnesota and follow it up against Oregon in Week 2, so the new QB will need to hit the ground running.

Even with some question marks, the Ohio Buckeyes still look to be the team to beat in the Big Ten. This is a program that has made a habit of reloading year after year and rarely taking a step back. They do have a couple of tough stretches ahead of them in the coming season, but they are considered the team to beat and one of the favorites to win the National Championship. Right now, the Buckeyes are at +600 to win it all.
