The Pittsburgh Panthers have a shift in their team as quarterback Kenny Pickett was selected in the NFL Draft, and now Kedon Slovis will be the starting quarterback after transferring from the USC Trojans. They are the 17th-ranked program in the preseason, so today, we will look at the schedule and figure out which games are must-bet situations on the calendar. Let’s get right to it so you can plan your bets against their NCAAF Betting Lines.
Must Bet 2022 Pittsburgh Panthers Games | College Football Betting Analysis
vs Duke Blue Devils (November 19)
The Pittsburgh Panthers have been one of the better teams and dominated in this matchup last season as they picked up a 54-29 road win. The Panthers were able to easily move the ball extremely well as they finished with 636 total yards of offense, and the defense forced Duke to go 8-of-19 on third down attempts and 0-of-3 on fourth down tries.
They are easily the better program in this matchup, and Slovis should dominate here, so go with the Pittsburgh Panthers on the road to cover the spread against an inferior program late in the regular season.
vs Rhode Island Rams (September 24)
The Rhode Island Rams struggled at the end of the season as they finished the year going 2-4 in their final six games. This is a non-conference matchup, and the Panthers are far and away the better program up to this point.
Kedon Slovis is a good quarterback, plus has an upperclassmen wide receiver core and should be able to do pretty well against the Rams secondary. Rhode Island is going to struggle to score points against them as they have an incredible defensive team with some experience under the belt.
vs Syracuse Orange (November 5)
In the ACC, it feels like this is the Pittsburgh Panthers, and they played the final regular season matchup a year ago against one another when the Panthers picked up a 31-14 road win. Defense wins these types of games as Syracuse went just 3-of-12 on third down attempts and 1-of-2 on fourth down attempts.
The Syracuse Orange just simply was atrocious running the ball against this Panthers defensive front, which is still there, as they had 30 rushing attempts for 25 yards (0.8 rushing yards per attempt).
Pickett had an incredible game passing the ball on this defense, so I expect Kedon Slovis to do the same exact thing in this game.
This Pittsburgh Panthers team is one of the older programs in terms of their talent, but head coach Pat Narduzzi should be able to dominate, and having the feeling of playing at Heinz Field should make it feel even bigger.
They are entering the season as the 17th-ranked program and should be able to dominate some of the lesser teams in the ACC and cover a bunch of games throughout the entire season.
This should be an incredible season for Pittsburgh as they have great talent from last year and are transferring from other programs. What are some games that you are circling on the calendar that you are going to be betting on this season for the Pittsburgh Panthers?
