The calendar has rolled over into the month of November, which means we are heading into the closing weeks of the college football regular season. It also means that we are going to hear from the Playoff Committee for the first time this season, as they will be releasing their first rankings of the year on Tuesday night. They may yet surprise us, but I think it’s fair to suggest that the top 4 will be made of up the unbeaten teams who are in the top 5 in the AP Poll. Who will be on the outside looking in remains to be seen, as does the #1, with many thinking that Tennessee might be ahead of Georgia. That, though, might change later this week, with those two teams set to square off on Saturday. That game is the first of out SU picks for the week, but we also have a couple more, so let’s get to it.

Georgia Bulldogs over Tennessee Volunteers

You can’t really ask for a better matchup than this, as it is #1 versus #3, with the winner of this one almost certainly punching a ticket to the SEC Championship Game. The defending national champions are perfect thus far and are once again looking like a defensive beast. This will be a case of the unstoppable force versus the immovable object, as QB Hendon Hooker has the Volunteers firing on all cylinders. This is the best defense he will have faced all season, though, and it is going to be interesting to see how he reacts to the pressure that will come from the Georgia D. This game is huge, and you have to give the edge to the Bulldogs on home field.

Texas A&M Aggies over Florida Gators

Let’s stick with the SEC for our next pick, which features a pair of teams who have to be disappointed with how things have gone this season. The Texas A&M Aggies were a bit of a sexy pick heading into the season, but they have seriously underwhelmed and are at 3-5 right now. It’s a very similar story for the Gators, who are licking their wounds after getting thumped by Georgia last weekend to fall to 4-4 on the season. Neither team is guaranteed a bowl game right now, and the loser of this one is going to face a tough final stretch to become bowl eligible. The Florida Gators are just 1-8 SU in their last 9 conference games, so I am on the Aggies for this one.

Kentucky Wildcats over Missouri Tigers

We might as well go for the clean sweep as we try to dominate the SEC this weekend, which might not be the smartest idea ever. Still, this is another game that I feel more than a little confident about. Kentucky hits the road with a 5-3 record on the season and the opportunity to become bowl eligible with the win. Missouri is treading water at 4-4, but they have been a very good bet at home, going 5-1 SU in their last 6 on home field. That said, the Wildcats have won 6 of their last 7 meetings overall against the Tigers, which is more than enough to have me leaning in their direction in Week 10.
