We’ve made it all the way to Week 12, and the races for conference championships and a playoff berth are heating up. Every conference game is important, and teams know that they can’t afford to lose a game this late in the season.
Speaking of losses, it’s now time to give you some of our College Football Betting predictions for the upcoming week. Here are our “sure losers” of the week.
Who Will Be the Big Losers In Week 12 of the 2022 College Football Season?
Ole Miss Rebels @ Arkansas Razorbacks (+3)
Arkansas started off the season with high hopes, but now that they have a 5-5 record, they’re just trying to win one more game so they can earn a bowl berth. The Hogs have lost their last two, including a non-conference game with Liberty. Now they’re going to welcome the Ole Miss Rebels to town.
Ole Miss is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Alabama. Lane Kiffin’s crew had numerous opportunities to beat the SEC powerhouse, but they just couldn’t finish the job. Ole Miss is still having a very good season, as they are now 8-2 overall, with a 4-2 record in the SEC. This team is different from most Kiffin-led teams, as this team relies heavily on the run.
While Arkansas nearly beat LSU on Saturday, they couldn’t get the job done, and that seems to be a recurring theme for the Razorbacks. We see this trend continuing on Saturday when the Rebels come to town. Arkansas will be fired up at home, but they won’t be able to hold the Rebels down. Ole Miss will make Arkansas one of our “sure losers” of the week, as we predict that they’ll beat Arkansas by 10 points.
Tennessee Volunteers @ South Carolina Gamecocks (+21)
Shane Beamer has done a nice job of turning the South Carolina program around. Currently sitting at 6-4, the Gamecocks have had some nice wins this year, along with some tough losses. He has the program going in the right direction, but he has yet to get a signature win at South Carolina.
This weekend he has his chance to get that win, as the Gamecocks host one of the best teams in the country, in the Tennessee Volunteers. After losing to Georgia two weeks ago, Tennessee stormed back with a huge victory over Missouri. In beating the Tigers 66-24, the Vols set a school record with 724 yards of total offense. As we’ve seen all season long, this offense can put up points in bunches. With Hendon Hooker leading the way, Josh Heupel’s squad has become one of the best offenses in the country.
When Spencer Rattler transferred to South Carolina, many felt that he would be a huge get for the Gamecocks. It’s safe to say that Rattler’s season has been a disappointment. Rattler had another subpar game in South Carolina’s 38-6 loss to Florida on Saturday.
Tennessee knows that it has to win out in order to have a shot at a playoff berth. Unless Georgia slips up prior to the end of the regular season, Tennessee will need to have the playoff committee on their side. With that all being said, we think that they impose their will on South Carolina on Saturday. The Gamecocks will be one of our “sure losers” on Saturday, as the Volunteers beat them handily, covering the 21-point spread in the process.
