2022 NHL Conferences Championship Betting Favorites in the East and the West

2022 NHL Conferences Championship Betting Favorites in the East and the West

There’s nothing like playoff hockey! The intensity is turned up, the game seems faster and more physical, and the players are playing knowing that one mistake could cost them the season. With home crowds being in a frenzy, and every game being very important, playoff hockey is one of the most exciting sporting events to watch.

When it comes to betting, we usually see an increase in betting come playoff time. Let’s take a look at the NHL Conferences odds of some of the favorites to win the Eastern and Western Conferences to represent their conference in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Who Are the Favorites in Each Conference in the NHL Playoffs?

Who’s the Favorite to Win the East?

  • Florida Panthers +300

Florida was the top team in the conference heading into the playoffs. However, they’ve run into a tough Washington Capitals squad. Heading into Monday night’s contest down 2-1, the Panthers have some work to do. Their defense and goaltending hasn’t been very good. We’ll see if they can right the ship, or if the Caps have a huge upset in the making.

  • Toronto Maple Leafs +325

Heading into Tuesday night’s Game 5, their series with the Tampa Bay Lightning is even at two. This has been an odd series, as each team has taken its turn blowing out the other. We usually see close games in the playoffs, but that hasn’t been the case in this one. This series could go all seven games, with Toronto having the advantage of hosting Game 7.

  • Carolina Hurricanes +400

Carolina won the first two games easily, but then went to Boston and lost two straight. Now they’re headed back to Carolina for Game 5. Boston will be without their top defenseman, Charlie McAvoy, so this should give the Hurricanes a nice advantage. Their offense should prove to be too much for the Bruins in this series.

Who is Best in the West?

  • Colorado Avalanche +100

How can this team not be favored to win the West? They had the best offense in the conference, had the second-best defense, and had the second-best goal differential. Heading into Monday night’s game, they hold a 3-0 lead over the Nashville Predators. Even if the Preds take this one, we can’t see this series going past a fifth game. The Avalanche are the real deal, and they’re going to be hard to stop!

  • Calgary Flames +450

The winners of the Pacific Division have one of the best offenses in the conference. They also have the best defense in the conference, as the Flames only allowed 208 goals on the season. They have the best goal differential in the West. Their offense has let them down in the postseason thus far, as they are down 2-1 to the Dallas Stars. In the first three games of the series, they’ve only scored four goals. If their offense doesn’t wake up soon, their time in the playoffs could be short-lived.

  • Minnesota Wild +600

No pun intended, but their first-round series with the St. Louis Blues has been wild! They’re tied at two games apiece heading into Game 5 at Minnesota. The Blues have had some injury issues early on, but some of their players are returning for Game 5. We’ll see if the Minnesota Wild have what it takes to hold off a very good Blues team.
