FIFA World Cup Betting Update: True Contenders to Win the 2022 Title

Written by on November 8, 2022

The first match at this year’s World Cup is just about here. Host nation Qatar takes on Ecuador in what should be a great game. But although it will be fun to watch Qatar play Ecuador, neither team has much of a shot of winning the World Cup title. Which teams can take the championship? See below for a list and FIFA World Cup Betting analysis of the six main contenders to win the 2022 World Cup Tournament.

Who Are The Real Main Contenders for World Cup 2022

The 2022 Qatar World Cup Main Contenders

  1. Brazil +450

No team is as deep at every level as the Brazilians. Brazil has a plethora of forwards, including Richarlison, Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha.

Fabhino and Fred lead a deep midfield and the backers are in good hands with backer Thiago Silva. Brazil is so deep they boast two of the best goalies in the world in Ederson and Allison.

  1. Argentina +650

Argentina opened a +1400 choice. Heading into the tournament, the Albiceleste is third choice to win the title. Messi has said this is his final World Cup, which means Lionel is paving the way for the awesome Lautaro Martinez.

With a fantastic mix of young and old, Argentina is a legit contender to win the WC. We rank them second ahead of France on our main contender’s list.

  1. France +550

On paper, France should repeat as World Cup champs. But not all is copasetic in France. So we can’t put the French ahead of either the Brazilians or the Argentinians.

Rumor has it, Mbappe wants out of Paris Saint-Germain. If that’s true, he won’t have his head one-hundred percent playing for his country at this year’s World Cup.

France has the look of the 2014 Spain side. El Rojo won the 2010 World Cup and then bombed at the 2014 tournament. That could be France this year. Still, the team is too talented to leave off this list.

  1. Germany +1000

Most feel Germany doesn’t have enough talent to win the World Cup. But we’ve underestimated the Germans before and they’ve burned us.

Thomas Muller continues to play at a high level. Muller, the captain, will ensure younger players are on the same page with veterans.

Also, Muller is a World Cup veteran. He’s won a Golden Boot. So he knows the pressure nations face playing in the WC. Germany’s odds had dived +400 since opening at +1400.

  1. Spain +800

Spain has a real chance to win the World Cup. The reason they aren’t higher on this list is because the Spanish don’t have the same experience that teams like Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and France have.

Spanish players have club experience. But their best young players have limited international experience.

  1. Netherlands +1200

On paper, the Dutch will field as talented as Germany and almost as talented as Argentina, Brazil, and France. Placing the orange higher on this list, though, is impossible.

The reason is simple. The Netherlands has never won a World Cup. Their history says the Dutch will contend until it’s time to actually do something like make the Finals. Then, the Orange will disintegrate.
