Morocco Odds to Win the FIFA Qatar World Cup

  • Morocco +24000

The odds make Morocco a massive longshot to win the World Cup. Based on the nation’s history at the WC, the odds are fair.

The Moroccans have qualified for six World Cup tournaments. Of those six qualifications, Morocco has moved past the group stage just once.

Morocco has never challenged for a World Cup title. So why would anyone believe they can win this year? But before saying 240-to-1 odds are underlaid, it’s important to note that Morocco boasts plenty of UEFA league talent.

Not only that, but Group F didn’t come up as tough as some other groups like Group F where fellow African continent nation Tunisia must beat either France and Denmark to move to the knockout stage.

Morocco won’t win the World Cup. But if you want action on a crazy odds choice that has as much of a chance as any team offering 100-to-1 or higher odds, Morocco isn’t the worse play you will find.

Why Morocco will move to the next round

Group F isn’t nearly as daunting as many of the other groups. Morocco faces Belgium and Croatia. But neither one of those teams has played excellent soccer in recent international matches.

So if Morocco beats Canada, which they should, the Moroccans must only upset the Belgians or the Croatians to move to the knockout stage. Group F is tailor made for Morocco to pull off one of the bigger upsets during the World Cup tournament.

Why Morocco won’t move to the next round

Morocco should beat Canada, but that’s not a given. Up until the final FIFA Qualifying matches, Canada was the CONCACAF’s best squad.

The Canadians were better than the United States and better than Mexico. So Morocco isn’t a lock to beat Canada.

Then, if Morocco does beat Canada, the team must get by Luka Modric and Croatia or Kevin De Bruyne and Belgium. The chances of that happening aren’t great.

Final Analysis – Morocco has tough hill to climb to make to the Round of 16

Morocco has some talent. 25-year-old Youssef En-Nesyri is a forward for Sevilla. Morocco’s captain, Yassine Bounou, plays goal for Sevilla.

Achraf Hakimi is a Paris Saint-Germain defender. Noussair Mazraoui plays on Bayern Munich’s backline and Aymen Barkok is an Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder.

So Morocco will have a shot to make it to the knockout stage. But although Morocco has talent, Belgium and Croatia have enough talent to win the World Cup.

Belgium isn’t just Kevin De Bruyne. Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, and Thorgan Hazard are the veterans, but the Belgian soccer program boasts plenty of young talent.

No doubt, Modric is Croatia’s best player. But the Croatians are loaded with UEFA league players.

Croatia won’t be easy to beat. Neither will Belgium, which means that even if the Moroccans beat Canada, the underdog will find it challenging to make it to the knockout stage.
