The PGA Tour’s new season actually began last year, but with the calendar now flipping over, we are heading into bigger and better tournaments where the best players in the game come to play. As is the case with these early season events, we are off to tropical climes, with the Sentry Tournament of Champions set to be held in Kapalua, Hawaii. There are some big names set to take part, with the action starting on Jan. 5 and running through to the 8th. You can understand why there are so many willing to take the trip when you consider that the prize pot is sitting at $15 million. Let’s take a closer look at the current PGA Tour Odds for the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Tennis Betting Opportunities and Lines for the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions
- Jon Rahm (+660)
During his time with the PGA Tour, Rahm has established himself as one of the most consistent golfers out there. His consistency does not always translate to wins, although he does have 7 on the tour, but he is a great bet if you are looking for a player to land in the top 5. A prime example of that can be seen in his lone tournament appearance this season, where he finished 4th. He has also been the runner-up at this event twice, including last year’s tournament. At these odds, I definitely think Rahm is worth taking a flyer on.
- Scottie Scheffler (+900)
It is going to be a tough act to follow for Scheffler, who is coming off a career year. He had 4 wins on the tour last season, including his first major at The Masters, as well as a 2nd place finish at the US Open. He already has a couple of top 10 finishes in the early part of the season as he looks to round into shape for this one. It is going to be interesting to see if he can carry over that momentum from last season, and at these odds, he is another player definitely worth taking a look at before you wager.
- Patrick Cantlay (+1025)
He may only have played in one event this season, but Cantlay is already showing that he means business in 2022-23. The event he played in was the Shriners Children’s Open, where he finished tied for 2nd, with his scoring average just a touch over 68. Yes, it’s just one tournament, but it was certainly a great way to shake off the rust and get back to business. He finished at -26 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions last year, which was still only good enough for 4th. A similar showing this time around might just be enough to win it all.
- Xander Schauffele (+1025)
Ranked at #9 in the world, Schauffele comes into this event this event on the heels of a top 10 finish in the only other tournament he has played this season. He is coming off a career year, where he had 3 wins on the tour, and he will be looking to build on that and be even better this time around. Cantlay finished outside the top 10 at this tournament last season, but I think he will do better and might be a decent top 5 bet.
