Updated MLB Division Betting Odds for the 2022 Season

2022 MLB Season

  • When: Thursday, April 7 – Wednesday, Oct. 5

AL East

The love for the Blue Jays knows no bounds. Toronto is loaded. But the Jays may not have what it takes to win the tough AL East Division.

The Rays could sneak their way to another division title. The batting line up isn’t as spectacular as Toronto’s but it’s plenty good while the rotation should be better than the Blue Jays’.

AL East Pick: Tampa Bay Rays +240

AL Central

The favored Chicago White Sox are a big time chalk to win the AL Central. It’s tough to go against the Chi-Sox to get it done.

The starting rotation looks as solid as it gets. The White Sox list Lance Lynn as their ace, but Lucas Giolito is the pitcher who could win the Cy Young. That tells us something.

Also, Jose Abreu leads a terrific batting lineup that includes hitters with power and hitters that concentrate on base hits. The White Sox should win their division no problem.

AL Central Pick: Chicago White Sox

AL West

The Angels and Mariners will send competitive teams to the diamond. Neither should be the division chalk.

Houston’s rotation will be one of the best in baseball with or without Justin Verlander. If Verlander returns to his best form, forget it. The Astros should boast the best starting rotation in baseball.

The bats, like always, will be hot. Most importantly? This Houston Astros’ squad has experience. A World Series berth is not out of the question. A division victory should be a sure thing.

AL East Pick: Houston Astros

NL East

Matt Olson should play well enough to temper the forever sting they will feel from Freddie Freeman leaving to go and play with the Dodgers. But just because Olson will play great, it doesn’t mean Atlanta wins the NL East.

Philadelphia improved leaps and bounds by signing designated hitter Kyle Schwarber. It’s impossible to predict how the DH in the NL will change things. One thing we know, though, is that Schwarber is the perfect designated hitter.

He’s a liability in the field but a monster at the plate. So Philly’s starters, Zach Wheeler is a legit Cy Young contender, can relax while Schwarber blasts dingers into the stands.

NL East Pick: Philadelphia Phillies +285

NL Central

The Brewers have a fantastic starting rotation led by 2021 Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes. The bullpen rates as one of the best in baseball and like the Phillies, the Brewers should benefit by the NL adopting the DH.

Christian Yellin can start in left field. Andrew McCutchen can play DH. So the Brewers are a serious World Series contender, which means they win their division.

NL Central Pick: Milwaukee Brewers

NL West

It’s tempting to go with the San Francisco Giants because the odds on the Dodgers feel underlaid. But San Francisco isn’t good enough to beat a Dodgers team with Freddie Freeman and a starting rotation that doesn’t require Clayton Kershaw to dominate on the mound.

Not only that, but Craig Kimbrel might be a step up from Kenley Jensen, which means the Dodgers improved the closer position. Nobody likes to lay -280. But, yeah, the Dodgers could be all that and a bag of chips like the odds indicate.

NL Central Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers
