Written by on October 21, 2021

There are still 3 races remaining in the 2021 MotoGP season, but the title could potentially be decided this weekend. There are several different ways in which the title could go to Fabio Quartararo, but the simple outcome is that he steals the crown with a win. Long story short, we are down to a 2-horse race heading into the final few weeks of the season, but the reality is that this thing is likely to be over before we get to the final week. Quartararo already looks to have done enough to secure the title, but we are sure he would like to do it in some style, which is why he is likely to be among the favorites in the final 3 races. Let’s look ahead to this weekend’s race by looking at the current top 4 riders so you can bet against their MotoGP odds.

MotoGP Betting Analysis for the Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna

Fabio Quartararo

As we mentioned already, Quartararo wins the world title with a victory in this race, but he can also win it all without taking the checkered flag this weekend. It all depends on where he and Francesco Bagnaia finish, as they are the only two left with a shot at becoming champion. You do have to say that Quartararo is a worthy champion, as he has been consistent from start to finish this season, picking up 5 wins along the way. That he has reached this point in just his 3rd season in MotoGP is a credit to how hard he has worked to improve. He has not won for a few races now, but he does have back-to-back 2nd place finishes ahead of this one. A similar result here might just do the trick. He ran 4th in this race in 2020.

Francesco Bagnaia

Bagnaia is current 2nd in the rider standings, but at 57 points off the pace and just 3 races remaining, he would need to basically win out and have Quartararo put in a couple of poor performances along the way. It all seems rather unlikely, but you can bet that Bagnaia will fight all the way to the finish. He does have 2 wins and a 3rd place run on his last 3 races, so you have to admire how good he has been coming down the stretch. He has been unable to make a huge dent in the lead during that run, as the leader has also been racing very well. Bagnaia was forced to retire at this event last season, so not a lot to go on there.

Joan Mir

In just his second full season in MotoGP, Mir stunned the race world by becoming champion in 2020. He did that despite winning just 1 race in the shortened season, but his inability to take a checkered flag this year has hurt his chances of repeating. He has not finished outside of the top 10 in the races he completed this season and has 5 podium finishes in that mix, but that is just not enough when Quartararo has been racking up wins. He finished 2nd in this race in 2020.

Brad Binder

It looks as though these 4 riders will be your top 4 for the 2021 season, although they may not end up in the order we have them listed here. Binder does have a win this season, but he has all too often missed landing on the podium, which is why he is now out of championship contention. He was forced to retire in this race last season.
