Many view Jokic as the best passing center to ever play the game. This season, he has led Denver up the Western Conference standings and has helped turn them into a title contender after a slow start to the season. Jokic is averaging 26 points, 11 rebounds, and nearly nine assists per game, so he’s very close to averaging a triple-double for the season.

2. Joel Embiid – Philadelphia 76ers

Embiid is an athletic freak. He’s a matchup nightmare for many of today’s big men, as he can score from the low post, or he can take you beyond the arc and hit the three-pointer. Embiid is also an MVP candidate, but because he has missed over 20 games due to injury and rest, many don’t feel that he deserves the award. Embiid is averaging 29 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists per game. Embiid can also be dominant on the defensive end when he’s engaged. When fully healthy, he’s the toughest big man in the league to defend. He is the main reason that the Sixers are sitting near the top of the Eastern Conference standings today.

3. Anthony Davis – LA Lakers

Whether or not Davis is a center is debatable, but when he is on the floor for the Lakers, more times than not, he is at the center position. Davis possesses the skills of a guard as prior to a huge growth spurt at the end of his high school career, Davis had always been a guard. He can handle the ball like a guard, and he can also shoot from the perimeter. His speed and quickness are tough for most big men to handle. If Davis could ever stay healthy, he would put up huge numbers every season, especially playing with LeBron James.

4. Rudy Gobert – Utah Jazz

Gobert is on track to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award. This would be his third time winning this award. Much of Utah’s success this season can be attributed to Gobert. Utah’s defense funnels things towards Gobert, and as one of, if not the best shot blocker in the league, it forces people to do things they don’t want to do. Gobert is also very dominant on the glass. He’s averaging over 13 rebounds per game. Offensively he is adequate. He doesn’t shoot well, and he’s not a great finisher, but Utah finds ways to utilize his talents.
