Who Should We Bet On this Week in the NBA

Who Should We Bet On this Week in the NBA?

Written by on January 23, 2023

We’ve made it past the halfway point of the NBA season, and teams are now gearing up for the playoff run. In looking at this week’s slate of games, we’ve found some games that we think we have a good beat on. Let’s take a look at those games, and we’ll give you our best betting advice.

Boston Celtics @ Miami Heat – Tuesday

The Boston Celtics have the best record in the NBA. They have won nine straight games heading into Monday’s action. They’ll now take a trip to South Beach to face one of their biggest rivals, the Miami Heat. Boston will more than likely be without starting point guard Marcus Smart. Smart injured his ankle in their Saturday night victory over the Toronto Raptors. Payton Prichard is a suitable backup, but he isn’t the defender that Smart is.

As for the Miami Heat, they struggle to shoot the basketball. They get to the foul line as much as anyone, but they struggle shooting the three-pointer. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have played well this season, but the rest of the team has had offensive issues. The Heat always guard well, but the offensive inconsistencies have been a lot for them to overcome.

We like Boston to win a close one. Missing Smart will be a huge loss for the Celtics, but we think they can overcome it and beat the Heat.

Chicago Bulls @ Indiana Pacers – Tuesday

Early in the season, the Pacers looked like they could be a surprise team in the East. Now that we’ve gotten to the halfway point of the season, the Pacers have plummeted down the Eastern Conference standings. The losers of seven in a row, Indiana is now sitting in ninth place in the conference. They will host the team sitting just one-half game behind them on Tuesday night, as the Chicago Bulls come to town.

The Bulls have been a major disappointment this season. With Zach Levine, Nikola Vucevic, and DeMar DeRozan leading the way, much was expected of this team. They just can’t seem to mesh, and they struggle on the defensive end of the floor. The Bulls are exploring ways to improve, and could even trade one of their core players. Until then, they’ll just keep plugging away.

Even though the Pacers have lost seven straight, the Bulls always seem to struggle with teams like the Pacers. We like Indiana to break their losing streak on Tuesday night. It will be a close one, but the Pacers will prevail.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Golden State Warriors – Wednesday

There will be a lot of points scored in this one, as the Golden State Warriors will host the Memphis Grizzlies. Golden State has been a disappointment this season, as injuries, and the Warrior’s  inability to win road games have been an issue. However, this game is a home game for Golden State, and they’re 17-5 on the season at home. The Grizzlies are 11-11 on the road this season.

We could see Golden State being favored, and as long as it isn’t too big of a spread, we would take the Warriors.
