Projected Top 10 in 2016

Carolina – Despite ranking just 24th in passing, the Panthers ranked first in scoring last season, thanks mostly to their powerful, second-ranked rushing attack (142.6 ypg). I expect the Panthers to be powerful again offensively in 2016 and more balanced thanks to the return of No. 1 wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin and underrated veteran wideout Stephen Hill. Cam Newton has a chip on his shoulder and whether you love him or loathe him, is an athletic freak of nature at the quarterback position.

Arizona
The Cardinals finished second in scoring last season as Carson Palmer had a career year, thanks mostly to the on-going brilliance from ageless future Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. If you don’t know, running back David Johnson (1,038 yards, 12 TDs) is a best! The Cards have one of the best offensive minds in the game today in head coach Bruce Arians and will score their fair share of points again in 2016.

New England
As long as Tom Brady is the starting quarterback in New England, the Patriots will rank inside the top 10 in scoring. Enough said.

Green Bay
The Packers finished 15th in scoring last season by averaging 23.0 points per game, but I expect them to get back into the top 10 by regaining their offensive balance thanks to the return of No. 1 wide receiver Jordy Nelson and a recommitted Eddie Lacy.

Pittsburgh
The Steelers have arguably the best offensive trio in the league in quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, running back Le’Veon Bell and wide receiver Antonio Brown. Make no mistake about it, the Steelers will finish in the top 10 in scoring again in 2016.

Cincinnati
The Bengals have an explosive offense and a fantastic trio of their own in quarterback Andy Dalton, wide receiver A.J. Green and running back Jeremy Hill, though he disappointed last season.  Cincinnati has been one of the best offensive teams in the league for a few years now and I see no reason that should change in 2016.

New Orleans
Like their counterparts in New England, as long as future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees is under center, the Saints will remain a top 10 offense.

Kansas City
The quartet of head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Alex Smith, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and returning veteran running back Jamaal Charles leads me to believe that K.C. will finish in the top 10 in scoring in 2016.

Dallas
The Cowboys finished the 2015 season ranked 31st in scoring last season, but that was due mostly to the fact that starting quarterback Tony Romo missed a major portion of the season with a broken collarbone they didn’t have a serviceable quarterback behind injured starter.

Seattle
the Seattle Seahawks finished fifth in scoring last season and look like a sure-fire pick to do so again in 2016 with dual-threat quarterback Russell Wilson leading a group of athletic skilled position players.
