NFL 2022 Cleveland Browns Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Prediction

NFL 2022 Cleveland Browns Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Prediction

We have already made our predictions for the win totals of every team in the AFC North, but they were just quick looks. The goal now is to start breaking things down by team, and we are getting the ball rolling with the Cleveland Browns. In our divisional preview, we had them as going UNDER the 9 ½ win total, but how did we come to that? Well, the fact of the matter is that we are looking at a bit of a tricky situation with the Browns. Yes, they got an upgrade at the QB position, nabbing DeShaun Watson from the Houston Texans. The problem here is that there is still a possible suspension looming for Watson, so we don’t really know if he will even start in the opening few weeks. It may explain why they have not yet moved Baker Mayfield on, but time will tell. Of all the picks, this is the one that is perhaps the toughest, solely because of the Watson situation. If he is cleared to play from the start, this may change my pick to OVER. With all that said, it’s time to take a look at the Browns so you can plan your bets against their NFL Team Totals odds.

Browns 2022 Schedule

The Browns have not won a season opener since 2004, but you do have to say that they have a shot at going 2-0 to start this season, with the Panthers and the Jets being the first 2 teams that they will face. That said, this was a team that managed just 2 wins on the road in 2021, so I would not say that a Week 1 road trip to Carolina is a guaranteed win.

Week 3 sees them host the Pittsburgh Steelers, and while they are facing a team in transition mode, these divisional games are always a crap shoot. I think they win in Week 4 versus the Falcons, but I think they follow that up with a loss to the LA Chargers in Week 5.

The Browns then have 3 more games before their bye in Week 9, and all 3 are tough. They will start with a home game Versus the Patriots, which could be a win, before facing the Ravens on the road and the Cincinnati Bengals at home. That’s a stretch that could well be 1-2, and while they might eke out 2 wins, I don’t see them winning all 3.

Weeks 10 through 12 are also tough. A road trip to Miami is a difficult one, but it’s also a game that the Browns could potentially win. You can’t really say the same for Week 11 and Week 12, as they will be on the road to face the Bills, followed by a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That looks like a pair of losses to me.

Week 13 is a road trip to Houston to face the Texans, which should be a win. They will then be on the road in Cincinnati, followed by a home tilt with the Ravens. There is the shot at a split there, so the potential for a 2-1 stretch here.

Week 16 sees the Browns host the Saints, followed by a road trip to Washington. They will then close out their season on the road to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Again, I think this has the potential for the Browns to go 2-1.

Win Total Prediction

Without knowing how the Watson situation will play out, I am sticking with the UNDER 9 ½ wins, but that could flip if he gets to play the whole season. Right now, I think 8-9 or 9-8 seems like a reasonable prediction.
