MNF Raiders vs Chiefs Lines & Prediction for Week 5 of the 2022 NFL Season

MNF Raiders vs Chiefs Lines & Prediction for Week 5 of the 2022 NFL Season

This week’s Monday Night Football matchup features a Week Five AFC West division battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Las Vegas Raiders earned their first victory and improved to 1-3 with a 32-23 win over the Denver Broncos. The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, look to continue their momentum after a 41-31 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to move their record to 3-1 on the year.

Let’s take a look at how these two teams stack up and check out which NFL Betting options are best.

NFL Week 5 Betting Preview for Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City

Raiders Look For Major Upset on the Road

Josh McDaniels’ Raiders (1-3) were predicted to contend for the AFC West Division crown, but they started the season with three straight losses. Last week, Las Vegas beat Denver at home 32-23, thanks in large part to a 212-yard rushing onslaught.

RB Las Vegas Josh Jacobs put on a workhorse performance, rushing 28 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Davante Adams also had a big day for the men in black as he gave the Raiders 101 receiving yards on nine receptions. Overall, the offense is posting over 350 yards and 24 points per game.

The Raiders’ defense is coming off a nice performance against Denver, where they held the Broncos offense to just under 300 yards on Sunday while recording three sacks and scoring a TD off a turnover.

Amik Robertson recovered a Melvin Gordon fumble in the second quarter of the Raiders’ victory and ran 68 yards for the touchdown. They’ll have their biggest test yet when they travel to face Patrick Mahomes and an Andy Reid led offense.

Kansas City Proving They Are the Team to Beat in AFC

The Chiefs looked dominant against the Buccaneers and went into Tampa Bay and scored 41 points against arguably the league’s best defense. Kansas City moved to 3-1 overall and are averaging more than 32 points per game going into Monday night’s game.

Patrick Mahomes took home the AFC Offensive Player of the Week Award last week after recording an outstanding stat line of 249 yards through the air, three touchdowns, and a 97.7 passer rating.

Overall the Chiefs thrashed Tampa Bay for 417 yards and rank fifth in the league total offense and second in points per game.

It’s time to start discussing the Chiefs’ rush defense, which has the potential to be among the best in the league and in team history. They have successfully held the line this season against James Conner, Jonathan Taylor, and Austin Ekeler, all of whom are excellent running backs.

Last week they stopped Leonard Fournette from gaining any positive rushing yards and rank first holding opponents to just over 65 yards per game.

Betting Odds

The Chiefs are heavy favorites at home, according to Mybookie, coming in as a -7 spread and -320 moneyline favorites. The Raiders picked up their first win last week but are still +7 spread and +265 moneyline underdogs. With both teams having high-powered offenses, the point total is set at 51 (-110)

Betting Prediction

I understand the case that can be made for the Raiders and the points because they have already experienced some close defeats this season and are a better team than their record would suggest.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, appear to have woken up significantly against Tampa Bay last week and are by much the superior club in this game. The Chiefs have simply overpowered the Raiders in recent meetings and triumphed by a combined score of 89-23 in their victories last season.

The Chiefs’ rushing defense is legit, and Josh McDaniels will have to pass his way out of this one. Unfortunately for Vegas, Patrick Mahomes will dice right through the Raiders and prove they are the team to beat in the AFC once again. Give me the Chiefs laying the points in this situation.

Betting Pick: Chiefs -7 (-110)
