We’re less than one month away from the start of the 2023 National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs. Teams are still battling for playoff positioning, while others are playing out the schedule.

With that in mind, there’s plenty of intriguing NHL betting matchups this week.

Ottawa Senators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins (-165) host the Ottawa Senators (+134) on Monday night. The over/under is 6.5, with the over and under paying out -130 and +106, respectively. Pittsburgh has a puckline of -1.5 (+138) and the Senators have a puckline of +1.5 (-170).

Ottawa is 38-31 against the spread (ATS) this season, including 18-16 on the road. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is 29-39 ATS and a dismal 10-24 ATS at home. The Ottawa puckline, then, is an attractive bet for obvious reasons, but the Senators moneyline (+134) is even better value.

The Senators have lost five games in a row and are desperate for a win to get back into the wild card race. They looked to be turning the corner at home against the Maple Leafs on Saturday, but Matt Murray made 48 saves in a 5-4 shootout victory for Toronto.

The over/under is 7 and the over is paying out +101. Edmonton has scored 20 goals in their last four games. The over is 46-21 in Oilers games this season and 40-28 in Sharks games, so hit the over tonight.

The home team has won four of the last five games involving the Rangers and Hurricanes. New York beat Carolina 6-2 at home on February 23. The Rangers offense is firing on all cylinders and should keep rolling at Madison Square Garden Tuesday. Take the Rangers ML.

The Minnesota Wild, meanwhile, is 19-15 ATS on the road. Take the Wild to cover the +1.5 puckline on Tuesday.
