Bayern proving to be the best soccer club on the planet

Bayern brought their UCL record this season to 2-0 after they beat Locomotiv Moscow 2-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Not only are the defending champions showing that they’re serious about defending they’re title, they’re also proving that they’re the best club team in the world.

The best team in the Bundesliga does have a league loss. TSG Hoffenheim beat Bayern  4-1 on Sep. 27, but that was Bayern’s first loss since Nurnberg beat them 5-2 on January 11. From January 11 to the loss to Hoffenheim, Bayern had won 28 matches and drawn once, against RB Leipzig on Feb. 9.

Since Hoffenheim’s incredible upset, Bayern is back at it, winning 7 in a row, including dominating Atletico Madrid 4-0 last week and putting a 5-0 beat down onto Frankfurt on October 24. The win over Locomotiv is just another example of how even when Munich isn’t at its best, it still plays well enough to get a win.

Man City an underlay at +450

Although Man City should have no trouble moving forward from Champions League Group Play, we shouldn’t consider the Sky Blues a true contender to win the UCL.

Manchester City beat Porto 3-1, yes, and they beat Marseille in their second game, but let’s not kid ourselves. The draw almost forces Pep Guardiola’s squad to march out of group play. In addition to Porto and Marseille, City must get past Olympiakos.

Man City’s group pales in comparison to last year’s runner-up Paris St. Germain’s, who must battle tough RB Leipzig and Man United, or Real Madrid, who already lost to Shakhtar Donetsk, was down a goal at halftime to Monchengladbach in their second UCL match, and must face strong Inter Milan later in group play.

City’s got problems. Just look at their current EPL record, 2 wins, a couple of draws, and a loss. Then again, Aston Villa and Everton have 4 wins just like Liverpool in the English Premier League. But at +450, we must pass on Man City to beat mighty Bayern.

Liverpool rates as Bayern’s top Champions League rival

So far, only the best squad in the Premier League, and the 2019 UCL winner, has shown the ability to hang with Bayern. Pool has climbed near the top of the EPL Standings. They figure to win their group and march on in the Champions League.

If Liverpool continues to play this well, they could challenge the defending champs. Plus, they offer much better odds. So, consider Pool the play to beat Bayern Munich ahead of Manchester City.

If you’re looking to back a couple of big time underdogs, Monchengladbach beat Real Madrid and RB Leipzig is ahead of Bayern on the Bundesliga Standings. Both should move out of group play. Also, both know Bayern well, which means they may have an advantage that other Champions League teams don’t.
