International Friendlies: European Soccer Matches to Bet On the Weekend

European friendly soccer matches happen tomorrow, Saturday, March 26. The most interesting matches start at 10:00 am ET when Croatia hosts Slovenia. Croatia has become a World Cup contender. Is Croatia’s squad a WC contender this year like it has been in the past couple of tournaments? See below for International Friendlies odds, analysis, and a free pick for Croatia versus Slovenia and five other terrific friendly soccer matches happening on Saturday.

Friendlies European Games Worth Betting This Weekend

Slovenia +502 vs Croatia -196

  • When: March 26 at 10:00 am ET

Slovenia’s form isn’t terrible. The road underdog has won 2-of-5 with a draw. The 2 losses, though, suggest Croatia dominates because one of the losses happened to the home team.

Croatia dominated Slovenia 3-0 in a FIFA World Cup Qualifying match on Sep. 7. That match meant something, though. Expect Croatia to play with some interest but not a ton. A draw is possible.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Iceland +216 vs Finland +122

  • When: March 26 at 12:00 pm ET

Finland has the upper hand because this happens on their pitch. The Finnish haven’t played exceptional soccer, though, losing 3-of-5, including dropping their last 0-2 versus France.

Iceland lost their last match 1-5 to South Korea. Neither team should go all out in this and risk injury, which is why at the odds, the home team is a good play.

Soccer Pick: Finland

Belgium -192 vs Ireland +481

  • When: March 26 at 1:00 pm ET

The Belgians have no business losing to Ireland. But this is a friendly and it’s difficult seeing Belgium playing Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne for over 30 minutes in a quest to win a friendly.

That doesn’t mean Ireland wins. Ireland could force a draw, though, which would pay nicely.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Switzerland +378 vs England -142

  • When: March 26 at 1:30 pm ET

Both squads have won 3-of-5 with 2 draws. The match happens in England, so the English have an edge.

But the odds don’t justify a wager on England. Like Belgium, England is a World Cup contender. The English won’t throw caution to the wind in a friendly.

England drew against Hungary and Poland. These two drew 0-0 in the last head-to-head. Here’s another on Saturday where a draw seems likely.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Israel +2 ½ -113 vs Germany -2 ½ -120

  • When: March 26 at 3:45 pm ET

Will Germany beat Israel by 3 goals? It doesn’t seem like they will. The Germans are gearing up for a deep World Cup run later this year.

So Germany won’t play their starters much. However, the Germans are so talented, they may not be able to help winning this by 3 to 4 goals. Also, Germany will want their young players to start to gel with the older crew. Expect an at least 3 goals home team victory.

Soccer Pick: Germany

Denmark +286 vs Netherlands -116

  • When: March 26 at 3:45 pm ET

On Nov. 15, Denmark fell to Scotland by 2 goals. The loss was strange because before losing, the Danes had rolled to 4 straight victories.

This match doesn’t mean much. But, no doubt, Denmark will want to get back on the winning side. Doing so requires them to play harder in this than they did versus the Scots.

The Netherlands is always tough to beat no matter where the match takes place. Still, the Danish  offers better odds than they should. The Danes are the play.

Soccer Pick: Denmark
