World Cup Group F Odds

Favorite: Belgium -190

On paper, few teams should have as much of a chance of winning the World Cup as Belgium. The best player in the world, Man City mid Kevin De Bruyne, plays for Belgium.

Eden Hazard, who has rejuvenated his career at Real Madrid, also throws on a Belgium kit. So do defenders Jan Vertonghen and Thomas Meunier.

Those four players should ensure Belgium plays well during the group stage. But although Belgium should win the group and is a deserving favorites, the odds make Belgium unplayable.

The Belgians are one of the older teams at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Croatia, Morocco, and Canada could cause the older squad trouble.

Upset: Canada +1200

If Canada wins Group F, it would be a massive upset. Canada isn’t as good as Belgium, Croatia, or even Morocco. So the Canadians winning would be huge.

But although Canada doesn’t have as much talent as their three Group E opponents, Canada does boast some UEFA players. Forward Jonathan David plays for Lille, midfielder Stephen Eustaquio plays for Porto, and Alphonso Davies is a Bayern Munich defender.

If Canada’s other players support their stars, the Canadians could pull off one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history.

Dark Horse: Morocco +1000

If Belgium and Croatia aren’t at their best, Morocco will make them pay. The Moroccans are a solid team. Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech and Sevilla forward Yousef En-Nesyri are quality players.

Fiorentina forward Sofyan Amrabat has 36 caps and defender Noussair Mazraoui plays for Bayern. Morocco has a nice mix of young and older players, which makes them one of the more dangerous underdogs at the Cup.

Predicted Winner: Croatia | Predicted Second Place: Belgium

Belgium remains the favorite, but Croatia should win Group F. The Croatians not only have plenty of young talent to support veterans Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic, but the second choice to win Group F has also tightened the screws in recent months.

After a stunning 0-3 loss to Austria in their first Nations League match, Croatia stepped it up. The Croatians drew 1-1 against France.

Then Croatia really got it going with 1-0 wins over both Denmark and France. Even at 37, Modric remains one of the world’s top midfielders. Perisic will play forward in Qatar.

Croatia’s supporting cast will do enough for the Croatians to upset Belgium and win Group F. Belgium finishes second.

Although Morocco will push Belgium, at the end, Kevin De Bruyne is Belgian. De Bruyne will be one of the World Cup’s top players. He will ensure Belgium moves to the second round.
