2021 Sofia Open Tennis Analysis & Predictions | ATP Betting

  • When: September 27 – October 3
  • Where: Arena Armeec in Sofia, Bulgaria

The 2021 Sofia Open will feature six of the top-40 rated players in the world, including Jannik Sinner and Gael Monfils, who are ranked 14th and 20th, respectively. Unsurprisingly, the two are billed as strong favorites to win in Bulgaria, and we can’t argue with that.

Sinner travels to Bulgaria fresh off a fairly impressive run to the 1/8 finals at the U.S. Open, where he had to admit defeat to Aleksander Zverev (0-3). Unfortunately, his biggest competitor for the 2021 Sofia Open title, Monfils, wasn’t as successful at the U.S. Open; however, he has done well enough to make it to the third round.

Interestingly, the French tennis player crashed out of R3 against Sinner, who edged past him in a five-set thriller with 7-6, 6-2, 4-6, 4-6, 6-4. Suffice to say, Sinner and Monfils match up nicely and should produce another close affair if they happen to clash in Sofia.

Since Sinner and Monfils are a clear cup above everyone else, it’s fair to assume they’ll make it far. Of course, there is a world where either of the two slips, but we wouldn’t count on that happening.

Sinner is priced at around +350 to win the 2021 Sofia Open, while you can back Monfils at +650. However, knowing how closely matched they were last time out, it would make more sense to back Monfils at better odds since he has proven that he can compete with the Italian.

Having said that, Sinner is a far better hard-court player, with a 21/9 record on the year, compared to Monfils’ 6/6 and a career average win rate of 63.9%. You won’t get rich betting on Sinner to win, but he is definitely the most likely to succeed in Romania.

2021 San Diego Open Tennis Analysis & Predictions | ATP Betting

  • When: September 7 – October 3
  • Where: Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, United States

The 2021 San Diego Open will welcome some top-rated players and local players on the Barnes Tennis Center tennis court, where they’ll compete for the lion’s share of the $600,000 prize pool. Some of the top players traveling to San Diego include world no.5 Andrey Rublev, world no.10 Casper Ruud, and world no.12 Denis Shapovalov.

Joining the field is also the 2021 U.S. Open semi-finalist Felix Auger-Aliasimme, currently ranked no.11. While all big names, the main attraction is the multi-grand slam winner Andy Murray, who is priced as high as +2000 to go all the way.

Since this is the first iteration of the ATP San Diego Open, it’s hard to say who will do well, but based on the form the main candidates have been showing, it’s not difficult to spot the favorites.

Current world no.5, Rublev will be expected to take home the spoils, and while nothing is guaranteed, it’s hard to make a case against the 23-year-old. Rublev has done well at the Laver Cup and has made it to the finals of the Cincinnati Masters last month.

What’s more, Rublev was in the finals of the Halle Open and reached the quarter-finals of the Italian Open in May. Even though he has not delivered in Grand Slam tennis tournaments, Rublev has done well elsewhere and should be considered as an outright betting pick for the 2021 San Diego Open.
