WorldSBK Round 2 Mandalika International Street Circuit Betting Prediction

The SuperBike World Championship season continues this week. After a dominant performance by Alvaro Bautista in Australia last week, WorldSBK action moves to the Mandalika International Street Circuit on Lombok Island in Indonesia.

WorldSBK had wanted to return to Indonesia for years. The course opened in 2021. With a breathtaking scenic backdrop of coastlines and mountains, we can anticipate some competitive racing around the 17 corners of the Mandalika track.

WorldSBK has been working with a new race format that packs more action into race weekends.

Each race weekend on the WorldSBK calendar runs two normal-length races and MyBookie has the SuperBike betting lines for each race.

In 2019, a third race, a ten-lap sprint called the Superpole Race, is held on the final day of the weekend before the 2nd race. The grid positions for the second race are by the results of the top nine riders in the Superpole race. The remaining starting positions after that are decided by qualifying times from earlier in the weekend.

For those looking to get some action on this weekend’s races, let’s look at the markets of riders and constructors to see where there are opportunities for value this weekend in Indonesia.

Riders To Watch

Alvaro Bautista, last year’s defending champion, is expected to continue his success from last weekend in Australia. In Australia, Bautista won all three races of the Australian weekend and had the fastest lap in the final race. He will be a popular choice this weekend.

The rider to take note of for this weekend in Indonesia is Toprak Razgatlıoğlu. After capturing the Superpole last weekend in Australia, he finished 3rd in Race 1 before crashing in the second race and not finishing.

Last year, he had a dominant performance at Mandalika International Street Circuit, where he won all races, including the Superpole. With his previous success, you could expect him to run well here again this year.

Team & Constructor Potential

Betting on motorsports teaches one of the fundamental truths of sports betting – getting exposure in as many ways as possible to likely outcomes. In motorsports, that means wagering on riders and extrapolating that to teams and constructors.

Alvaro Bautista’s win last year on a Ducati broke a string of dominance by Japanese teams. Between 2015-2021, Kawasaki dominated, winning six straight Manufacturers’ World Championships before Yamaha broke through in 2021.

Team success was also a factor in last weekend’s races in Australia. In Race 1, the Yamaha team had two top-five finishes in race 1. Bautista’s team Aruba. It Ducati finished 1-2 in Race 2. If you want to get additional exposure to Bautista this week, consider betting on both riders from Aruba. It Ducati to finish in the top 10.

The racing conditions this weekend in Indonesia could also factor into wagering options on this weekend’s races. It is the wet season in Indonesia, so keep an eye on tire choices made by teams for the race. There could be some value in wagering on unexpected outcomes based on the weather and how the teams prepare for the weather.
