NASCAR Odds this Weekend: Toyota Owners 400 Betting Analysis and Best Drivers to Win

The NASCAR season is moving along as fast as the cars on the track, with this weekend’s race in Richmond representing race number 7 of the 2024 season.

If we have learned anything through those races, it’s that we don’t yet have a clear favorite to win it all emerging from the pack. The wins have been spread out across several drivers, and there are currently just 15 points separating first from fifth in the driver standings. Given how close it is, the winner of the race this weekend could potentially make a move to the top of the standings, assuming they are not there already. The unpredictable nature of this sport makes picking a winner tough, but the bookies certainly have an idea of who they like, so let’s take a look at the current NASCAR odds for the 2024 Toyota Owners 400.

NASCAR Race Odds and Favorites to Win Toyota Owners 400

  • Christopher Bell +400
  • Denny Hamlin +425
  • Martin Truex Jr. +600
  • Ty Gibbs +800
  • Kyle Larson +850
  • William Byron +950
  • Brad Keselowski +1100

Christopher Bell

Bell started the season with a great performance, landing on the podium after a 3rd place finish in the Daytona 500. He had a tough time following that up, underperforming in the next 2 races, but he is now on a run that has seen him finish in the top 10 in each of the last 3 races. During that 3-race run, Bell picked up his first win of the season in Phoenix, while coming very close to a 2nd win at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend. He has also had some success in this race over the last couple of seasons, finishing 4th and 6th, respectively. Bell looks to be a very solid top 5 pick this weekend.

Denny Hamlin

Consistency has been a huge part of Denny Hamlin’s career, and while he always seems to be in the mix, he has yet to go on and win a Cup Series Championship. He is also on a run of 2 straight seasons where he has finished just outside the final four, so his main goal this season is probably to get back to the Championship Round. He is very much in that conversation in the early going, sitting in 4th in the driver standings through the first 6 races of the year. He picked up a win in Bristol and will be looking for a repeat of his 2022 performance in this race, where he took the checkered flag.

Martin Truex Jr.

After a 2nd place finish in the 2021 championship race, Truex Jr. has had a relatively disappointing time of things over the last couple of seasons. Given his age, you do have to wonder how much longer he will continue to compete at this level, but through the first 6 races, he has accumulated the most points, although he is still looking for his first win of the season. He has been in the top 10 in each of the last 4 races, which included a 2nd place run in Bristol. He finished outside the top 10 in this race last season, but he was 4th the year prior. A top 10 might be the way to go here.

Ty Gibbs

When drivers make the move from one series to another, there is very often a period of adjustment. Gibbs moved to the Cup Series on a full-time basis in 2023, and while he had some good moments over the course of the season, he ultimately fell just short of a play off spot. He started this season with a 17th place run in Daytona, but he has been money since then, landing in the top 10 in 5 straight races. There have been a couple of podium finishes during that stretch, all of which has Gibbs sitting 2nd in the driver standings. Gibbs finished 9th in this race last season, but I think we can expect even better on Sunday.

Kyle Larson

Given that Larson has a championship and a 2nd place overall finish in the last 3 seasons, the expectations for him tend to be very high. It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Larson to this point in the season, although he does have a win and a top 5 finish to his name. Outside of those 2 races, he has failed to make much of an impact, landing outside the top 10 in the other 4 races. While he has been somewhat unpredictable through the first 6 races, there is certainly reason to believe that he could be in the hunt this weekend, as he took the checkered flag in this corresponding race last season.

William Byron

Since coming into the Cup Series in 2018, Byron has made steady progress. He took a massive step forward last year, making it all the way to the Championship Round before coming up just short in the final race of the year. All signs seem to point to this being another big year for Byron, as he got things started in the best way possible, taking the checkered flag at the Daytona 500. He only had one top 10 run in the next 4 races, but he picked up his second win of the year at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend. He did not have a good showing in this race last year, but he was 3rd in Richmond in 2022, so do not count him out.

Brad Keselowski

It has been a long time since Keselowski won a Cup Series championship, coming out on top in 2012. Since then, there have been some close calls along the way, but Keselowski has not been able to match the highs of that championship season. This season has definitely not started as well as he would have hoped, with Keselowski sitting down in 16th in the driver standings after the first 6 races. There have been some signs of improvement, though, with a pair of top 5 finishes in the last 3 races, but can he keep that going and maybe do something this weekend? He was a top 10 finisher in Richmond last season, and betting on a similar finish might not be a bad idea.

2023 Toyota Owners 400 Odds

With 6 races gone in the new NASCAR Cup Series season, we are beginning to see things take shape and get an idea of which drivers might be in the championship hunt. It is just a basic idea, though, as we all know that things can change rather dramatically, especially if one or two drivers start to get hot. That’s a discussion for later, though, as all we are concerned about right now is the next race on the schedule. That one comes this weekend in Richmond with the running of the Toyota Owners 400. It has been a super competitive start to the season, which we expect to continue this weekend. There is no real clear favorite for this race, as the bookies have it tight on the board. Let’s look at some of the drivers they like as well the NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Betting Odds, Analysis and Prediction for the Toyota Owners 400

William Byron (+560)

It is always cool to watch a young driver grow with each passing season, which is what is happening with Byron right now. Over the last 3 seasons, he has seen his overall finish in the driver standings improve year upon year, culminating in a 6th place finish last season. Maintaining that trajectory means that he should be in the hunt for a championship in 2023 and things are certainly playing out that way in the early going. Byron already has a pair of wins and has been in the top 5 3 times through the opening 6 races. He ran 3rd in this race last season, so he could be a factor again.

Kevin Harvick (+590)

Over the years, Harvick has been one of the most consistent drivers in NASCAR, but he is coming off a disappointing 16th place finish last season, which perhaps prompted him to announce that 2023 would be his final season before retirement. He is off to a very decent start in his final year, sitting 6th overall in the driver standings. He has picked up a pair of top 5 finishes, but he is still looking for his first win. He finished 2nd in this race last season, so he might be able to break that goose egg this weekend.

Kyle Larson (+640)

After winning the Cup Series Championship in 2021 in dominating fashion, the feeling was that Larson might be about to go on a run of titles. That did not come to pass, though, as he went out in the Round of 8 last year and is off to a slow start in 2023. He does have a pair of top 5 runs this season, but outside of those, he has failed to crack the top 10 in the other 4 races. He ran 5th at Richmond in this corresponding race last season, so perhaps he can get back on track this weekend.

Christopher Bell (+780)

Last season proved to be a breakout year for Bell, who made it into the final four before finishing 3rd overall. He had 3 wins on the season, including 2 in the playoffs, so the thought was that he would be able to carry that momentum over into the 2023 season. It’s still early, but we have yet to see him pick up his first win, although he has been in the top 10 in 4 of the 6 races, which is good enough to have him in 7th overall. He finished 6th in this race last season, so certainly one to watch.
