The AFC is arguably the stronger of the two conferences in the NFL. The AFC is home to three of the top quarterbacks in the sport. In looking at the four AFC teams remaining in the playoffs, three of them have elite quarterbacks, while the fourth quarterback is one of the up-and-coming quarterbacks of the future. With all of that being said, the experts say that you need a good quarterback to win a Super Bowl, so the AFC is looking good in that department.
The oddsmakers have released their newest set of odds to win the upcoming Super Bowl. We have focused on the AFC teams. We will now take a look at each of the four AFC teams remaining in the playoffs, and we’ll give you their odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
Kansas City Chiefs +310
Patrick Mahomes has had a great season. Mahomes threw for over 5,200 yards with 41 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. The Chiefs offense is as good as it has been over the past few seasons, and they’ve done this with a running game that hasn’t really gotten off the ground this season. The Chiefs will play the Jaguars, who are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. While the Jaguars will be able to score some points, the Chiefs shouldn’t have an issue scoring points on a Jacksonville defense that has given up a lot of yards in the air, and doesn’t have a strong pass rush. Any time you have Mahomes under center, you have a great shot at winning games.
Buffalo Bills +350
As long as Josh Allen can avoid making costly mistakes, the Buffalo Bills have a great shot at winning it all. Buffalo has a dynamic offense, and when Allen is playing well, it’s one of the best offenses in the league. Allen has been plagued by bad interceptions this season, but if he can take care of the ball, this will be a hard group to stop. Even though the Buffalo defense has progressively gotten worse throughout the season, they still have the ability to come up with big stops when they need them.
Cincinnati Bengals +800
The Bengals are on a roll. They’re on a nine-game winning streak right now, and Joe Burrow is playing at an elite level. Their offensive line issues could become a problem, but Burrow has been able to play through those issues. A trip to Buffalo could be the Bengals downfall, but if they can somehow survive the trip up north, they have a great chance of winning the AFC. The Bengals defense has been better than advertised, and this group has been overshadowed by the Burrow and the offense. We’ll see if they can figure out how to slow Allen and Stefon Diggs down this weekend.
Jacksonville Jaguars +3500
Trevor Lawrence went from one end of the spectrum to the other in their Wild Card game with the Chargers last weekend. After throwing four first half interceptions, Lawrence led the Jaguars to a wild come-from-behind victory over Los Angeles to move on to a date with Kansas City. Lawrence and the Jaguars offense has been scoring points. We’ll see if their defense can step up their game. They have the lowest odds of any remaining team, and they play the Chiefs in Kansas City. Do they have what it takes to continue their magical run?
