The mini-dynastic run of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked like it would end this offseason when Tom Brady announced his retirement … only for the GOAT to change his mind. However, he won’t have tight end and fellow future of Hall of Fame Rob Gronkowski to throw to any longer. Here is the complete preview for your NFL Odds.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2022 Season Betting Guide

Tampa Bay finished last regular season with a 13-4 record. The Bucs beat the Eagles 31-15 in the Wild-Card Round in Tampa. The Bucs set the tempo from the start, with Brady leading a pair of long TD drives in the opening quarter and building the lead to 17-0 by halftime. The three-time league MVP finished off the Eagles with TD passes of 2 yards to Rob Gronkowski and 36 yards to Mike Evans, improving his dazzling playoff record to 35-11 in a record 46 postseason starts.

However, in the Divisional Round also at home vs. the Rams, LA won 30-27. Brady rallied the Bucs from a 27-3 second-half deficit with help from three of the Rams’ four turnovers, tying the game on Leonard Fournette’s 9-yard run on fourth-and-inches with 42 seconds remaining. However, the Rams won it on a late field goal.

Right around the start of the NCAA Tournament’s March Madness, Brady decided to unretire, tweeting this: “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG” Brady’s retirement ended up lasting all of 40 days — though it was never official as it never came across the league transaction wire.

There’s not much left for Brady to chase. He’s played in the NFL for 22 seasons, earned three MVP awards, and won seven championships—surpassing the challenge Michael Jordan issued on a golf course in 2015, when he told Brady to “come back to me when you’ve got six championships.”

He was recently asked by Variety how many more years he plans to play in the NFL, and his answer was vintage Brady: “I’m saying one, but I reserve the right to change my mind,” Brady said with a smile.

Brady’s partner in crime Gronkowski said he will not be unretiring himself, though. An all-decade performer for the 2010s, Gronkowski spent nine seasons with the Patriots and two with the Buccaneers after unretiring before the 2020 season. A four-time Super Bowl champion, Gronkowski caught 621 passes for 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns during his career. His 15 career postseason touchdown catches is second all-time behind only Jerry Rice.

Tampa Bay likely will open the season without former Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin as well as he’s recovering from a torn ACL that cut short his 2021 season. Godwin led the Bucs in targets and receptions last year, and has established himself as one of the most complete pass-catchers in the entire NFL. Despite the injury, Tampa Bay acknowledged Godwin’s importance to their roster with a new three-year contract extension back in March.

Tampa Bay signed Atlanta’s Russell Gage to a three-year deal in free agency, but the Bucs would prefer to allow the new addition to serve as their No. 3 receiver behind Godwin and fellow Pro Bowler Mike Evans.

The Bucs also resigned top running back Leonard Fournette on a three-year deal worth up to $21 million. Fournette earned the nickname “Playoff Lenny” for his inspired play during the Bucs’ championship run two seasons ago. Last season, he rushed for 812 yards and scored eight TDs on 180 carries. The running back also connected with Brady in 69 passes for 454 yards.

Tampa Bay opens the season Week 1 in Dallas – those teams opened the 2021 season in the Kickoff Game in Tampa and the Bucs won a thriller 31-29. Brady threw for 379 yards and four TDs. Ryan Succop won it with a 36-yard field goal with 2 seconds remaining. Succop’s field goal came after Greg Zuerlein put the Cowboys ahead with a 48-yarder with 1:24 to go.
