There are two weeks left in the NFL regular season and it is still all to play for. While there are now only 2 postseason spots left to fill in the NFC, the AFC still has 6 spots up for grabs. That number will drop dramatically after this weekend, but we are going to need to go down to the final week of the season until we know how teams will be seeded and what the path to the Super Bowl looks like for every team that finishes above the playoff line. It goes without saying that the next 2 weeks are absolutely huge for the teams still in with a shot at making the playoffs and there are a ton of important games to comes. Let’s take a look at the Week 17 schedule to see if we can come up with some O/U winners so you can place your bets against their NFL odds.
2021 Season Week 17 Over/Under Picks | NFL Betting
Atlanta Falcons at Buffalo Bills (OVER 44)
After hitting a bump in the road, the Buffalo Bills once again appear to be back on track and gearing up for another deep run in the playoffs. The Bills have now won 2 in a row, including a huge win over the Patriots that puts them in position to win the AFC East if they can nab one more victory over the next couple of weeks. Mathematically speaking, the Falcons are still in the playoff hunt, but they would need to win out and get some help along the way to land in one of the 2 available spots. That does not look particularly likely at this point. While the Falcons have been trending under for the most part, they have seen 8 of their last 12 versus the AFC go OVER. The OVER has also hit in 5 of the last 7 for the Bills and 6 of the last 8 meetings between these two teams.
Detroit Lions at Seattle Seahawks (OVER 42 ½)
It has been a bit of a disastrous season for both of these teams, although you do have to say that we all saw the Lions struggles coming. The situation in Seattle is a little more surprising, and it may well lead to the end of an era, as word is that Russell Wilson will be looking to move on next season. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but it’s something we will be keeping an eye on. The fact that both teams are eliminated from playoff contention makes this pick a little trickier. Everything that you look at suggests that this should be a game that goes under the point total, but I have a feeling that the number here is low enough that we might just see the OVER hit.
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (OVER 47 ½)
This is a divisional matchup that is always fun to watch, but it takes on even more importance in Week 17. The Packers are looking to clinch the #1 seed in the NFC and a victory here would go a long way towards them doing just that. Things are not quite as good for the Vikings, who are currently below the playoff line and in a position where they probably need to win out. The OVER has hit for the Vikings in 5 of their last 6 games, as well as in 8 of their last 10 games played on the road. The Packers have seen 4 of their last 5 go over, but perhaps more convincing is that the OVER has hit for Green Bay in their last 9 games played in the month of January.
