With a new week at hand and a bunch of intriguing soccer matches going down across the globe over the course of the coming week, it’s time to take a look at three of the most value-packed matchups on the board.

Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – September 9th Edition

MLS

New York FC (15-8-5) v Toronto FC (11-8-10)

  • When: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY
  • TV: ESPN+

New York City sits atop the MLS standings and heads into the new week riding the wave of a five-match winning streak. New York got past the New England Revolution as Jesus Medina nailed a penalty kick in second-half stoppage time to get the win. Medina also scored in the 70th minute to forge a tie before finishing off New England in the 96th minute with a left-footed shot into the far corner after a foul in the box.

Toronto has gone 2-0-1 over their last three and enters the new week coming off an emphatic 5-1 spanking of Cincinnati on Saturday. Patrick Mullins, Nick DeLeon and Marco Delgado scored in a dominating 18-minute stretch beginning in the 10th minute while Michael Bradley and Nicolas Benezet added goals in the rout. The win helped the Reds move into a fifth-place tie with the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference with five matches left.

Prediction

Toronto is playing well right now, but New York has been rock-steady all season long and they’re playing at home in this intriguing match where they’ve gone a blistering 9-1-4. Toronto is just 4-6-4 on the road and I’m expecting them to fall in this one despite a valiant effort!

Pick: New York FC 3 Toronto 2

English Premier League

Liverpool (4-0-0) vs. Newcastle (1-1-2)

Liverpool is off to a fantastic 4-0 start through four matches and hits the new week coming off an emphatic 3-0 shutout win over Burnley on Saturday. Roberto Firmino had a goal and an assist as Liverpool recorded a club record 13th consecutive Premier League win. The win helped Liverpool stay atop the Premier League table after Man City had briefly moved ahead of them with a 4-0 win over Brighton earlier in the day.

Newcastle is coming off a humbling 1-1 tie against Watford on Saturday. After falling behind 1-0 just 78 seconds into the match, Newcastle got the equalizer as Fabian Schar beat Ben Foster with a left-foot shot from inside the area just before the half.

Prediction

Liverpool beat Newcastle twice last season including a decisive 4-0 win at Anfield. Superstar Mo Salah scored in both games and Liverpool is just too talented to lose this time around as well. I’m thinking a two-goal win is in order here MYBookie soccer bettors.

Pick: Liverpool 3 Newcastle 1

Norwich City (1-0-3) at Manchester City (3-1-0)

  • When: Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 12:30 PM ET
  • Where: Etihad Stadium

Norwich has dropped two straight since getting their only win of the current EPL season. Norwich was on the wrong end of a humbling 2-0 loss against West Ham on Saturday as the Hammers got goals from Sebastian Haller and Andriy Yarmolenko. The Canaries missed a chance to pull the match level in the 31st minute but Todd Cantwell missed a header from close range wide, not to mention the fact that Norwich suffered a big blow when captain Christoph Zimmermann was forced off with an injury following a strong challenge from Haller.

Manchester City has won two straight and comes into this match off an emphatic 4-0 blowout win over as Sergio Aguero scored twice and Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva added goals in the rout. De Bruyne got Man City on the board just 68 seconds into the match which was the17th win in their last 18 league matches for Manchester City.

Prediction

Manchester City is by far, the better team at both ends of the pitch. Norwich City is an awful -4 in goal scoring differential while Manchester City is an impressive +11 through just four matches.  Sergio Aguero will find the back of the net at least once in this one while leading Man City to the easy win.

Pick: Man City 3 Norwich City 0
