The US Open moves into the second week on Monday, and the betting picture on the men’s singles side is becoming clearer. The first four quarterfinalists were set on Sunday, and on Monday, the rest of the round of 16 hit the courts.

Led by world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, the top of the bracket doesn’t have the American names that played on Sunday, but six of the eight players on the court Monday are seeded.

No. 6 Jannik Sinner against No. 12 Alexander Zverev should be the match of the day on Monday. Sinner reached his first-ever grand slam semifinal at Wimbledon this year before losing to Novak Djokovic, and Zverev is having a resurgent summer after his gruesome 2022 ankle injury.

Sinner kept the momentum going from his Wimbledon run with a title at the Canadian Open Masters 1000 last month. Zverev’s only slam final came at the 2020 US Open, and he made the semis a year later before missing the 2022 event. Zverev reached the semifinals at the French Open this season and won the Hamburg Open, his first title since November 2021. 

Sinner is the favorite at MyBookie with a -191 moneyline. Zverev is a +148 underdog, and the total games are 39.5, with both sides at -110. Zverev has a 3-1 head-to-head advantage over Sinner, including a win in the same round of the 2021 US Open. 

Zverev has lost a set in each of his last two matches, and both have gone at least 40 games. Sinner has lost one set so far in the tournament, and all his matches have gone under 36 games. Look for both players to win a set, but Sinner is in top form right now and ready to keep going.

Top Seed in Action

No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz takes the court on Monday, but he won’t face a seeded player. Italian Matteo Arnaldi, ranked No. 61 in the world, upset the 18 seed Cam Norrie on Saturday and now faces Alcaraz. The Spaniard, who won Wimbledon, has lost just one set so far in the tournament, and he’s only lost his serve three times. 

At MyBookie, Alcaraz is a massive moneyline favorite at -10000. Arnaldi is +1325, and the total games line is set at 26.5, with the under at -102 and the over at -129. 

Arnaldi beat Norrie in three sets after winning his second-round match in five sets. These two have never played, and Arnaldi needs to win three games a set to get to the over 26.5. That is the bet to take here, over 26.5, and look for the Italian to hold serve enough to prolong the match.

Medvedev, Rublev Favored

No. 3 seed Daniil Medvedev is a former champion in Flushing Meadows as the 2021 winner. This year, he has reached just one slam quarterfinal but is favored to make another one on Monday. The Russian is -270 at MyBookie to beat Alex de Minaur, who is +202 on the moneyline.

In the other match on Monday, No. 8 seed Andrey Rublev is favored at -284 on the MyBookie moneyline. Jack Draper is a +212 moneyline underdog, as this is the farthest he’s ever gone in a grand slam.

Both men played four-set matches in the third round, and Rublev has the experience with three US Open quarterfinals and two other slam quarters this season.
