Over the years, across the world of sports, we have seen dynasties come and go. Even in college football, where the big Power 5 teams rule the roost, staying on top can be tough. If you don’t believe that, then just ask the likes of Miami, Texas, and USC, former giants of the sport, how things are looking at the moment. Over the past decade or so, it has been Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State who have been the dominant forces, with Georgia coming into that group since the arrival of Kirby Smart. With that in mind, it is no real surprise that those are the teams that the bookies like as we look forward to the upcoming season. We will get into it with all of those teams, bur for now, let’s take a look at the 2022 season for the Alabama Crimson Tide so you can plan your bets against their NCAA Football Betting Odds.
Alabama Crimson Tide 2022 Season Betting Guide
2022 Regular Season
We could start this whole thing off by talking about the players that Alabama lost to the NFL Draft, but it is a pointless exercise, as that is something that happens to them every single year. Alabama is fortunate in that they, because of their success, are able to recruit the best players from all over the country, making the task of rebuilding each season a good deal easier. This season should be no different.
In recent years, we have seen some teams roll the dice and start the season with a tough challenge, but you have to say that the opening few weeks of the 2022 season look quite straightforward for the Crimson Tide. They do have a tricky trip to Texas in Week 2, but this is a team that should be 5-0 heading into October. Their first real challenge comes in their 6th game, where they will host Texas A&M, the team that beat them in the regular season in 2021. That starts a tough stretch of games that includes trips to Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.
The Crimson Tide went 11-1 in the regular season last year and I would expect a similar result this time around.
2022 Postseason
In the 8 years since we have had the playoff setup, the Alabama Crimson Tide has missed the playoffs just once. The rest of the SEC West is basically playing catchup at this point, so you have to feel that the division is theirs to lose. A division win would mean a trip to the SEC Championship Game, and a win there would almost certainly mean another playoff appearance. At the very least, Alabama looks like a good bet to be in Atlanta for the Conference Championship.
In terms of the National Championship, the Alabama Crimson Tide are the favorites to win it at odds of +188. This is a team that has been crowned champion 6 times in the Nick Saban era, and with any kind of drop-off this season seeming rather unlikely, you have to like them to be in the championship mix. It’s not the greatest of odds, but it may well be the best that you are going to get, so if you do like them to win again this season, now might be the time to get that wager in.
