2022 NCAA Football Big 10 Betting Analysis: Ohio State Odds Favorite to Win Title

2022 NCAA Football Big 10 Betting Analysis: Ohio State Odds Favorite to Win Title

We are just a few weeks away from Week 0 and the opening games of the college football season. Three Big Ten teams are helping kickoff the season by participating in a Week 0 game. The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Northwestern Wildcats start their season playing in Ireland on August 27th. The Illinois Fighting Illini start their 2022 campaign with a home game against the Wyoming Cowboys.

These three teams that are kicking off the season do not have the best chances of claiming the Big Ten Title in Indianapolis this year. Let’s look at some of the top teams in the Big Ten and who to look out for this season so you can plan your bets against their NCAA Football Conference Championship Odds

Ohio State Buckeyes -215

After a disappointing 2021 season, the Ohio State Buckeyes are looking for a strong response in 2022. The Buckeyes failed to make it to the Big Ten Championship game but more importantly, they lost to their arch rivals, the Michigan Wolverines. Ohio State brings back quite a few key players from last season and will look to make another run in the Big Ten East Division in 2022.

The Buckeyes are one again going to be led by C.J. Stroud, a Heisman Candidate. Stroud had an impressive 2022 season, throwing for over 4,000 yards, racking up 44 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Stroud will be looking for help after losing two big targets in Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson.

The 2021 Buckeyes team capped off the year strong with a wild victory at the Rose Bowl game over Utah. Ohio State would love to get back to Indianapolis this year for the Big Ten Championship. You can bet Ohio State as the favorite to win the Big Ten Title at -215 odds.

Michigan Wolverines +600

The 2021 Big Ten Champions are back and ready for more in the 2022 season. After a great run to a Big Ten Championship and a CFP Playoff appearance, the Michigan Wolverines are ready to run it back. Jim Harbaugh will have his hands full after he lost a few key pieces and the rest of the league got better.

It was a great year for the Wolverines, beating their arch rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and making it to the College Football Playoff where they lost to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Wolverines would like to make it two in a row this year and go back-to-back as champions.

Cade McNamara led the Wolverines last season at the quarterback position and will do so again this season. McNamara threw for over 2,500 yards. The big hole to fill will be in the back field after losing Haasan Haskins to the NFL Draft. You can bet Michigan as the first underdog favorite at +600 odds.

Wisconsin Badgers +1100

The first team out of the west division is the Wisconsin Badgers at +1100 odds. A slow start to the season did not help the Badgers in 2021 but they did manage to rattle off seven wins in a row. It was not enough to save the Badgers season.

Wisconsin would love to get back to the top of the Big Ten after not winning a Big Ten Championship since 2011 and 2012.
