We are still some way off from the start of the new college football season, but it’s never too early to start looking ahead and talking about the odds to win a National Championship. This coming season will be the last one under the current 4-team playoff system, as that will expand to 12 teams starting next season. Whether that will make winning a championship tougher remains to be seen, but that is also a conversation for another time. Right now, we are looking at the upcoming season, and specifically the Georgia Bulldogs, who will come into the new season looking to do the threepeat. Let’s try and break it all down to see whether or not that will happen in the next college basketball betting analysis.
College Football Playoff rankings predictions: Georgia to Win
The Georgia Bulldogs Odds for the Coming Season
Winning a championship in back-to-back seasons is tough but doing it in 3 consecutive seasons seems to border on the impossible, yet there are many fans and pundits out there who believe that Georgia is more than equipped to do so. To put this in perspective, you have to go all the way back to the 1930s to find the last time a team won 3 in a row. That team was Minnesota, who were champions from 1934-36. Despite how tough it is to pull off this feat, the bookies have Georgia in as the favorite at odds of +225.

Bulldogs Question Marks
For the second straight season, the Georgia Bulldogs lost a ton of elite talent to the NFL Draft. This, though, is all part of the business of college football, with the best teams able to recruit well and continue rolling. It’s worth remembering that after the Dawgs won their first title under Kirby Smart, they lost 15 starters to the draft and still came back and won it again.
The biggest question mark is at the QB position and who will replace Stetson Bennett. Georgia did not sip into the transfer portal for a new QB, which suggests that Coach Smart believes that Bennett’s successor is already on campus. Those are some big shoes to fill, which could make Dawgs fan a little nervous.

The Road to a Threepeat
You look at the schedule for the Bulldogs this coming season and you find it hard to see any games that they could potentially lose. Florida is always a tough one, while trips to Auburn and Tennessee are potential banana peels. That said, there does appear to be a rather large gulf between the Bulldogs and the rest of the teams in the SEC East, but you do have to wonder if there will come a time when replacing all the players now headed to the NFL is going to catch up with this team.

Will Georgia Win 3 In A Row?
While the path through the regular season looks straightforward enough, the playoffs are a whole different matter. The usual cast of characters – Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, USC – will be out there looking to knock off the champs, as will every team who comes into contact with Georgia. As cool as a threepeat would be to see, I am reserving judgement until I get a look at the Bulldogs with their new QB under center.
