Expert Predictions for 2016 NCAAF Week 1

Written by on July 11, 2016

We are getting closer and closer to Week 1 in college football, and there are already some NCAA Football betting odds we can look at for the opening week. It’s all just point spreads at that moment, but that’s a good way to start evaluating the early match-ups. Of course, there simply isn’t enough space here to look at every single game going down on opening week, but we can take a look at some of the bigger games that we are all looking forward to.

A Closer Look At The Expert Predictions for 2016 NCAAF Week 1

Kansas State at Stanford

Why wait for Saturday, September 3rd when you can get some betting action in on Friday. This will be out first look of the season at Heisman candidate Christian McCaffrey, and as he goes, so do the Cardinal. Stanford are a rather lofty 16-point favorites for this one, but they can certainly cover if McCaffrey goes off.

Oklahoma Vs Houston

This has to be considered one of the best match-ups for Week 1, especially since many people believe that Oklahoma are a legitimate National Championship threat. While this is a neutral site game, it is still being played in Houston at NRG Stadium, so expect this to be a Houston crowd. Oklahoma come in as a 10-point favorite, which I think is a little high.

LSU at Wisconsin

The Tigers will once again have a solid defense, and will also have RB Leonard Fournette returning to the backfield. This is a very tricky road trip for LSU to start the season with, but it could well set the tone if they come away with the win. The Tigers are 10-point favorites for this one, but again, this could be closer than some people expect.

Alabama at USC

The defending champions have decided to start their season off with a tough west coast trip, which shows you the confidence of Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide program. Alabama will head west as a 10-point favorite, and can serve a notice of intent by coming away with a big win. They are always a tough team to bet against.

North Carolina Vs Georgia

Another neutral site game, albeit one that is in Atlanta, which essentially makes it a home game for the Bulldogs. This will be the start of the Kirby Smart era in Georgia, and it may also be the start of Jacob Eason’s QB career as a Dawg. If that young man can play as expected, Georgia might well be a dark horse. The Dawgs will head into this one as a 3-point favorite.

Clemson at Auburn

With a kick-off time set for 9 PM EST, this game may very well serve as the perfect nightcap for what is sure to be a great day of football action. Clemson will feel that they have something to prove after losing to Alabama in last year’s championship game, but they have chosen a tough Week 1 opponent in the Auburn Tigers. Clemson are currently a 7.5-point favorite for this one.All of these lines may change, so be sure to check into regularly for all the live odds.
