Saban and his Crimson Tide

Jalen Milroe has been the biggest reason for the turn around for the Crimson Tide. He struggled early, and was on the verge of losing his spot as the starting signal caller in Week 3 at South Florida. After that though, wins over Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Texas A&M had the Crimson Tide back and rolling.

Milroe has 2,718 passing yards and 23 touchdowns this season. Jermaine Burton has been the top target with 35 receptions, 777 yards and 8 touchdowns. Alabama is 19th in College Football in scoring. The Crimson Tide are averaging 34.9 points per game. Defensively they have been sensational as well, allowing 18.4 points per game. In the loss to Texas, was the only game this season they allowed more than 30 points in a game.

This is the 77th College Football Bowl game for the Alabama Crimson Tide in school history. These two teams played at the Citrus Bowl back in 2019 with the Crimson Tide coming away with a 35-16 win on New Years Day. The Crimson Tide have won five out of their last six bowl games. Last season, they won the Sugar Bowl 45-20 over Kansas State.

Unbeaten Wolverines

Coach Harbaugh has a juggernaut of a team in 2023. While he was suspended for nearly half the games, the Wolverines did not miss a beat. In fact, Michigan won 10 of their 13 games by double digits this season. The three competitive games were in a row, against Penn State, Maryland and Ohio State.

Michigan did not allow more than 24 points in a single game this season. Many times, the Wolverines held their opponent to a single touchdown or less. Michigan allowed just 9.5 points per game. Do not let that fool you, the offense is still strong. Blake Corum is one of the top running backs in the nation, with over 1,000 yards and 24 touchdowns. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy also finished with 19 passing touchdowns.

This will be the 51st College Football bowl game for Michigan. The Wolverines have lost five straight bowl games. Last season, they were smoked in the Fiesta Bowl by TCU. The last time they played in the Rose Bowl was in 2007. In that game, they fell to USC 32-18.

Alabama vs Michigan Betting Pick for the Rose Bowl Odds | Thriller Leading to Title

What a fun game this should be. Michigan has been dominant all season. They have the wins over Penn State and Ohio State, but other than that they have not been tested as much as Alabama has. Nick Saban has a month to prepare. We like our chances here.

Alabama wins this game, and gets a shot at a rematch to their only loss of the season. Our betting pick for this game is the Alabama Crimson Tide +1.5 over the Michigan Wolverines. Enjoy the game and best of luck!

Rose Bowl Betting Update: Penn State Nittany Lions versus Utah Utes

We are coming off what is arguably the best playoff day in college football, with the TCU Horned Frogs and Georgia Bulldogs punching their tickets into the National Championship Game next week. The two games were an absolute thrill ride from start to finish and are going to be tough to top, but we do have a few games on Monday that look to have some very goof matchups. One of those is the Rose Bowl Game, one of the biggest on the entire bowl schedule, that will see the Utah Utes and the Penn State Nittany Lions lock horns in what looks to be a very evenly matched game. The bookies have the Utes in as a modest 1 ½ point favorite, with the point total for this one set at 53. Let’s take a closer look to see if we can make some winning picks so you can bet on the NCAA Football Bowl Odds.

Rose Bowl Match Info

  • When: Monday, January 2 at 5 PM EST
  • Where: Rose Bowl, Pasadena
  • TV: ESPN

Why bet on the Utah Utes

The playoff semi-finals were about as exciting as it gets, but things could have looked very different were it not for the part that the Utah Utes played in the process. They went 10-2 in the regular season, including 7-2 in conference games, to make it into the Conference Championship Game. They went into that one as an underdog but ended up crushing USC and knocking the Trojans out of the top 4 in the process. The Utes now come into this game as a conference champion, but are they ready to rest on their laurels or do they want another feather in their cap? This is certainly a team on a roll, winning 6 of their last 7 games. They have also covered the spread in 4 od their last 5 overall, as well as 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games versus teams from the Big Ten.

Why bet on the Penn State Nittany Lions

The Nittany Lions ended the regular season with the same 10-2 record as the Utes, but they have a much tougher road to the Conference Championship Game, given that they are in the same division as Ohio State and Michigan, both of whom made it into the playoffs, only to lose. For Penn State, there is a feeling that they might be looking to close things out on a high with a win in a big bowl game, so you can bet that they are going to be going all out. The certainly finished the season strong, winning 4 in a row, outscoring their opponents 165-40 in the process, so this is a team on a solid run of form. As good as they have been, this is a team that is winless in their last 6 games played in the month of January. On a positive note, they are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

This is one of those games that feels like it might come down to who has the ball last. I think we are in for a close one here, but I do feel as though it’s the Utes who have the slight edge. I am taking them to win and cover a close one.

Bowl Season Predictions (Orange, Citrus, Rose, Sugar) | College Football Betting Analysis

There are now just 2 weeks remaining in the college football regular season. After that, we will get the Conference Championship Games, which will lead us nicely into bowl season. There are a ton of bowl games every single year, with some certainly more glamorous than others, and while they may not all be great, bowl season represents a real opportunity to boost our bankrolls before the National Championship Game. It is possible to start making predictions on the big bowl games now, but it is worth noting that things will change in the final couple of weeks of the season, as the top 4 now will certainly not be the same. We are going to pick out 4 of the biggest bowl games and make College Football Bowl Betting predictions on who will land where, so let’s jump right in.

Orange Bowl – December 30

The Orange Bowl pits an ACC team against one of either of the SEC/Big Ten/Notre Dame. Given the year that the Irish have had, I believe we can rule them out of this one. The most obvious choice from the ACC for this one is the North Carolina Tar Heels, who are currently sitting at 9-1 on the season, as well as being 6-0 in conference play. As it stands now, their most likely opponent here would be the Alabama Crimson Tide, who are a disappointing 8-2 on the season, and perhaps a little lucky to be there.

Citrus Bowl – January 2

The Citrus Bowl pits an SEC team against a team from the Big Ten. If we start by looking at the SEC, the obvious pick would be the Ole Miss Rebels, who came close to winning the West Division this season. Over in the Big Ten, either Michigan or Ohio State will be in the playoffs, with the loser of their upcoming meeting dropping into a bigger bowl than this one. That, in my opinion, leaves the door open for the Penn State Nittany Lions to face off against the Rebels.

Rose Bowl – January 2

In this bowl, we have the Big Ten going against the PAC-12, and again I think we have a rather clear matchup here. The team that loses the Ohio State/Michigan game is almost certainly going to drop into the Rose Bowl. I have the Buckeyes winning that one, so let’s put the Michigan Wolverines in here. Who do they face? The Oregon Ducks saw their playoff come to an end last weekend, but I think this would be a nice reward for what has been a very decent season.

Sugar Bowl – December 31

Our final prediction is the Sugar Bowl, which pits the SEC against the Big 12, and again I think we have what looks to be a rather clear matchup. The LSU Tigers are heading to the SEC Conference Championship Game, but I think they are onto a beating at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs. That will drop them out of playoff contention and into the Sugar Bowl, where they could possibly face the Kansas State Wildcats. This is another one that would be an intriguing matchup, but like we said earlier, all these predictions could change dramatically over the next 3 weeks.
