College Football Week 7 SU Picks for the Top Betting Games of the Week

College Football Week 7 SU Picks for the Top Betting Games of the Week

In terms of our picks for the week, we are coming off our worst showing of the college football season. Heading into Week 6, we were sitting at 12-4 in our SU picks for 2022, but a 1-2 week was disappointing, to say the least. The only thin you can do when you have a bad day, or week, of wagering is to get back on the horse and go again, which is exactly what we are going to do heading into Week 7. I might well take a chance or two this week rather than just playing it safe to get the numbers up, so be aware of that before you decide to follow these picks. There are a lot of big games, and as always, we will be looking at the matchups that the bookies see as being close. Let’s get to it so you can get ready to make your bets against the NCAA Football Lines.

Week 7 Straight-Up Betting Picks | 2022 College Football Analysis

Kansas Jayhawks over Oklahoma Sooners

In reality, this is probably a better wager to go with against the spread, with Kansas heading to Oklahoma as a 7-point road underdog. Like I said at the top of this piece, though, I am willing to take a chance or two, and this seems like an opportunity. The fact of the matter is that the Oklahoma Sooners look like a team that has lost its way and which has all but given up on the season. They have lost 3 in a row and have given up 145 combined points in the process. On the flipside, Kansas just lost their first game of the season to fall to 5-1, but it was a solid effort against TCU. The Jayhawks offense has been putting up points and will score against a weak Sooners D. I’m betting they score more and get the win.

Michigan Wolverines over Penn State Nittany Lions

They don’t come much bigger than this one, with a pair of top 10 teams set to square off this weekend. Penn State comes in at #10 with a perfect 5-0 record, while the Wolverines, who are 6-0, are looking to jump back into the top 4 after being leapfrogged by Clemson this past weekend. This is a matchup that has been evenly split across the last 10 meetings, so there is certainly no such thing as a slam dunk betting choice when these two teams meet. That said, I have to give the edge to Michigan on home field, and while I don’t particularly like the spread on this one, I do like the Wolverines as a SU pick.

Tennessee Volunteers over Alabama Crimson Tide

I fully understand that I am going way out on a limb here, and that a good number of you are going to ignore this pick completely. I get that, but I think we are looking at an Alabama team that is fragile without the services of Bryce Young under center. They have already had close calls against Texas and Texas A&M this season, and I would suggest that Tennessee is a much better team than those other two. Yes, taking the Volunteers to cover the 7 ½ point spread might be the better way to go here, but I am going to take a risk and go with the upset.
