Horses from Japan, Normcore and Win Bright, have won the last couple of runnings. 2020 winner Normcore owns the record for winning the HK Cup in the fastest time.

Win Bright won in 2019 and finished second to Normcore last year. The reason that’s significant is because Loves Only You is a Japanese horse.

Not only that, but Loves Only You won the Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin last April. The race was at this distance. So we know she can win over the course.

Lei Papale ran in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Hansin Racecourse in her last. She finished sixth.

Stae of Rest is in good form. He won the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby in August and the Grade 1 Cox Plate in his last, beating Melbourne Cup winner Verry Elleegant. State of Rest is definitely worth a look.
