Tigers to win the AL Central +

Analysis: Tarik Subal has turned into a solid ace. Subal went 7-3 last season with a 2.80 ERA, struck out 102 batters, and posted a .90 WHIP. The man can throw, but if the Tigers’ rotation is to challenge Minnesota in the Central, Subal requires help from Jack Flaherty. Flaherty must pick it up this season. Second in the rotation, Flaherty has to improve the 4.99 ERA.

Kenta Maeda’s 4.23 ERA isn’t bad. So if Flaherty improves, the Tigers rotation will have a chance to shut down some opponents. As far as the bats are concerned, the Tigers will score runs. Riley Greene had 109 hits last season while batting .288. He didn’t show as much pop as one expects from the right field position with just 11 home runs, but Greene is good enough to improve.

Still, even though the Tigers could finish second in the division again, the odds are too low to endorse ahead of the Twins. Minnesota is loaded this season. So at +350, we must pass.

Tigers to win the AL Championship Series +2900

Analysis: The American League is deep in 2024. Defending World Series Champion Texas has pretty much the same squad as last season. Bruce Bochy is a genius manager. So the Rangers will make the playoffs.

Houston should be tough to beat. Seattle is a good team. That’s just the AL West. Also, Boston is a sneaky decent squad. The Central isn’t great after the Twins. So at around +3000, Detroit is a pass to win the American League Championship Series.

Tigers to win the World Series +6000

Analysis: 60-to-1 odds are nothing to sneeze at. Although Detroit shouldn’t even make the postseason in 2024, if you are a fan, or just want to back a massive underdog, consider going with the Tigers.

Tarik Subal is a Cy Young contender. If Flaherty and Maeda can lower their ERAs, who knows? Maybe, the Tigers challenge for a wild card if not beat Minnesota for the division title. If Detroit makes the playoffs, like what Arizona and Texas showed last season, anything can happen. So if you want to take a shot on a dog to win the Fall Classic, maybe, you take it on the Detroit Tigers.
