2022 NFL Betting Analysis, Odds Favorites, and Picks for Passing, Rushing, Receiving

NFL odds for players to lead passing, rushing, and receiving are out. The favorite to lead the league in passing is Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. Minnesota receiver Justin Jefferson is the chalk to lead the league in receiving yards, and Colts’ running back Jonathan Taylor is the favorite to lead the NFL in rushing yards. Check out NFL Prop Bets for the top plays in each yardage category as well as a pick.

A Look at the 2022 NFL Odds for Passing, Rushing, Receiving

2022-23 NFL Regular Season

  • When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 2023

Top NFL Passing Leader Plays

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has a real chance to throw for more yards than any other quarterback. The favorite in this category threw for over 5,000 yards last season.

Another 5,000 yard season is not out of the question. It’s not out of the question for Tampa QB Tom Brady, either. Brady has an added advantage because Tampa’s rushing attack may not be as potent this season as it was last season, and it wasn’t great last season.

Chiefs’ signal-caller Patrick Mahomes is always a threat to lead the NFL in passing yards. But Mahomes has become more of a game manager than anything else. He likes to take his time and wear down defenses.

Derek Carr, Las Vegas’ quarterback and the longest of the four top plays, is the choice. Carr threw for 4,804 last season and that was with tight-end Darren Waller as his top target. With Josh McDaniels calling plays and Davante Adams on the outside, Carr should easily eclipse 5,300 yards. There’s a chance he throws for much more.

Best NFL Player Play: Derek Carr +800

Top NFL Receiving Leader Plays

Favorite Justin Jefferson is a talented wide receiver. He believes that soon he’ll be the best wideout in the NFL. Jefferson’s quarterback, Kirk Cousins, is a legit QB1. But he’s not on the level of the signal-callers for some of the other receivers on this list.

Ja’Marr Chase catches passes from Joe Burrow. The duo combined for plenty of catches and yards last season. Burrow and Chase should be even more effective in 2022.

+1400 choice CeeDee Lamb plays with Dak Prescott. Lamb had a great rookie season in 2021. He wasn’t Dak’s top target last season, but will be this season. CeeDee could have a monster 2022.

But although Chase, Lamb, and Jefferson will have fantastic seasons, the top play is Davante Adams. Raiders tight-end Darren Waller is one of the best in the league. Teams can’t concentrate on both Adams and Waller, which means in many games, Adams will have a shot to dominate.

Best NFL Player Play: Davante Adams +1200

Top NFL Rushing Leader Plays

Any of the four running backs on this list can end up with the NFL rushing title. Taylor for sure is the top pick, but Jonathan may not see as many carries in 2022 as he did in 2021.

Indianapolis coach Frank Reich wants to save Taylor for the final stretch and playoffs. Also, new Colts quarterback Matt Ryan loves to throw to the running back and backup Nyheim Hines is the better pass catcher.

Derrick Henry heads into the season after a tough 2021. The Titans will want more from the passing game and Henry has been in the league for a while. So there’s no telling if Derrick will post the same massive rushing totals this season as he has in the past.

Chubb has a big chance to win the rushing title. The Cleveland Browns back plays on what could be an electric offense if Deshaun Watson gets on the field. If not, Chubb will get carries, but he won’t get a lot of daylight.

The pick is Najee Harris. Mike Tomlin knows the best way for his offense to succeed is to give the ball to Najee and let him do his thing. Harris should get around 25 to 30 carries per game. The Steelers’ offensive line is good enough to help Najee to the rushing title.

Best NFL Player Play: Najee Harris +1400
