After a hurricane-ravaged the New Orleans area, the Saints were forced to play away from their home stadium in Week 1. Even though they beat the Packers in Jacksonville to open the season, the Saints are eager to return to the Superdome. They’ll get to do that on Sunday, as they return to Mercedes-Benz Superdome to host the New York Giants. With that being said, let’s take a look at both teams and how they arrive to this match so you can bet against their NFL odds.

New York Giants Betting Analysis

The Giants are winless on the season. Last week, they lost 17-14 to the Atlanta Falcons. Even though the Giants gained 346 yards on offense, they were still only able to muster up 14 points. Quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 266 yards, while Saquon Barkley rushed for 51 yards. Barkley has yet to get going this season. Even though he’s now healthy, it has been hard to get yardage behind a suspect Giants offensive line.

Jones has thrown for nearly 800 yards this season but has thrown for just two touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Giants, Jones is also their leading rusher, having run for 161 yards with two scores. Sterling Shepard is their leading receiver with 223 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, the Giants haven’t played as well as they would like. They’re allowing nearly 25 points per game while giving up nearly 375 yards per contest. Logan Ryan has had a nice season for the Giants, but they just lost their defensive leader, Blake Martinez, for the season with a torn ACL.

New Orleans Saints Betting Analysis

Following their 28-13 over the New England Patriots in Foxborough, the Saints now sit at 2-1 on the season. Even though the Saints are 2-1, quarterback Jameis Winston has been inconsistent on the season. Even though he has thrown seven touchdown passes, he has only thrown for 387 yards on the season. On the plus side, Winston, who has struggled with interceptions in his career, has only thrown two.

Alvin Kamara is still the primary weapon for the Saints’ offense. In their three games, Kamara has over 250 yards of all-purpose offense. Winston has spread the ball around on offense. With Michael Thomas being out, Winston is still developing chemistry with all of the wideouts.

Once their glaring weakness, the New Orleans Saints defense has been stellar over the past couple of seasons. This season the Saints are only allowing 14 points per game. They’re giving up just over 300 yards per game. New Orleans has one of the top secondaries in the league.

Prediction

The Giants aren’t good on the road, as they have lost six of their last nine away from MetLife Stadium. The Saints love being at the Superdome, as they’ve won six of their last seven there. The Giants are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, while the Saints are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games.

With all of the emotion that will be involved in this game as the Saints finally return to the Superdome, we can’t go against them as a 7.5-point favorite. New Orleans wins this one by a score of 28-20 in front of a raucous New Orleans crowd.
