After a season of upsets, controversy, and great football, we are down to the final 2 weeks of the NFL regular season and things couldn’t possibly be any tighter than they are right now. While we will see some things settled in Week 17, we are not going to know all the playoff matchups and the paths that teams need to take to the Super Bowl until the final play of the final week. The reality is that we wouldn’t want it any other way. This is what football is meant to be and it’s why we all love it the way we do. We are looking to finish strong and follow our SU parlay in Week 16 with another one this week. There are some tough games to choose from this week, but let’s see if we can pick some winners so you can bet against their NFL odds.
Week 17 SU Picks for the 2021 Season | NFL Betting
Kansas City Chiefs over Cincinnati Bengals
After a bit of a stumble in the early part of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs have hit their stride in a big way. With their dominating win over the Steelers last weekend, the Chiefs clinched the division and out themselves in prime position to be the #1 seed in the AFC heading into the postseason. One more win would probably do it for them, but this matchup against the Bengals is not an easy one. Cincinnati comes into this one on a modest 2-game win streak that has taken them to the top of the North and put them in control of their own destiny. That said, they have not yet clinched a playoff berth, so a loss here would make for a nervy final week. The Chiefs are winners of 8 straight, but they have lost in each of their last 5 visits to Cincinnati. I think they snap that streak here.
LA Chargers over Denver Broncos
I will be the first to admit that this is very much a risky pick. The Chargers have been one of the more infuriating teams this season in terms of wagering, as they always seem to do the opposite of what you expect. They are in real trouble now, as they find themselves sitting below the playoff line after taking 2 straight losses, including an absolute hammering at the hands of the awful Houston Texans last weekend. The Broncos are not yet officially eliminated from playoff contention, but with back-to-back losses and a sub .500 record, their chances of making it in at this point are basically zero. The one thing that stands out when looking at the trends is that the Chargers have won 11 of their last 15 games in Week 17. It’s not totally convincing, but enough to get me to take a chance on them.
Dallas Cowboys over Arizona Cardinals
With the playoffs approaching, the goal for every team likely to be in the postseason is to avoid injury and try to get hot so as to go into the playoffs with some momentum. You have to say that the Dallas Cowboys are very much on the right path, as they come into this game having won 4 in a row, clinching the division crown in the process. Things are not so good out in the desert, with the Cardinals seeing their injury list grow and the losses begin to pile up. They have now lost 3 in a row, and while they will be in the playoffs, there is reason to be nervous about this team. This pick is all about playing the team with the hot hand.
