Paris Saint-Germain has a chance to win one of the more prestigious French soccer tournaments of the season. PSG battles Montpellier in the first French Coupe de France Semifinal on Wednesday, May 12. Then on Thursday, May 13, As Monaco takes on Vallieres. Check out France Cup odds, analysis, and free picks for both French Coupe de France matches.

Coupe de France: PSG Takes on Montpellier and Monaco versus Vallieres

  • When: Wednesday, May 12 – Thursday, May 13

Paris Saint-Germain -1 ½ (-112) Vs Montpellier +1 ½ (-117)

  • When: Wednesday, May 12

Based on the French Ligue 1 standings, Montpellier has no chance against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. The home team underdog in this has just 50 points compared to PSG’s 76 points.

But Montpellier will head into this match off a terrific win. On Sunday, May 9, the underdog beat tough squad Strasbourg 3-2. Gaetan Laborde starred for Montpellier.

Laborde scored goals in minute 36 and the 49th minute. Andy Delort scored in the 39th minute, which means that within a span of 13 minutes, Montpellier scored all necessary goals to get by Strasbourg.

The road victory should set up Montpellier to give a good accounting of itself. However, Paris Saint-Germain isn’t Strasbourg.

Going back to Dec. 19, 2019, Paris Saint-Germain has blasted Montpellier in 4 straight. When we write “blast”, we mean PSG has dusted their rivals by at least 2 goals in all 4 victories.

On Feb. 1, 2020, PSG beat the home team 5-0. Paris put a 3-1 beating onto Montpellier in the Dec. 5 match. In the last match, Kylian Mbappe and his mates blew away Mont via a 4-1 score, which is why Paris Saint-Germain covering the handicap is the play.

Soccer Pick: Paris Saint-Germain

As Monaco -1 ½ (-118) Vs Vallieres +1 ½ (+136)

  • When: Thursday, May 13

Vallieres is on a terrific 5-match winning streak. The 4-0 victory over Le Puy on April 7 impresses. As does the 2-0 victory against Toulouse on April 20.

But as well as Vallieres has played, they must step up big time to hang with As Monaco. The third-place team on the French Ligue 1 standings, Monaco is just 5 points behind Lille for the top spot and 2 points behind PSG for second-place.

As Monaco has won 4-of-5. The lone loss happened versus Lyon on May 2. Lyonnaise beat Monaco 3-2. On May 9, the road squad in this beat Stade de Reims 1-0.

Don’t expect the favorite to give the home team a break. Monaco should roll to at least a 2-goal victory.

Soccer Pick: As Monaco
