On Friday, Aqueduct gets the stakes ball rolling with the Grade 3 Bold Ruler. Then on Saturday, Aqueduct runs two graded stakes races, the Mother Goose and the Forty Niner.

Keeneland has a couple of graded stakes races on Saturday and then on Sunday, Churchill Downs runs the Grade 3 Street Sense.

Bold Ruler Stakes | Grade 3

6 furlongs dirt – 3 year olds and up

Belmont Park, Elmont, New York

Among the possible entrants, only Cowan won the last. The Raymond Ginter Jr. trained runner won an allowance. Durante and Stage Left should also attract action.

Horseplayers could make Twisted Ride the favorite. The Mike Maker trained equine finished second in the Maryland Million sprint in the last.

Bryan Station Stakes | Grade 3

Talk of the Nation will go off the odds on chalk. The Gun Runner Stakes winner hails from Claude McGaughey’s barn. Before breaking out with a win in the Gun Runner, Talk had finished second in the Jersey Derby and the Grade 3 Manila.

Gigante, Mo Stash, Worthington, and Appraise all have a shot to upset Talk of the Nation. Consider backing one of those if the odds on Talk fall to underlay territory.

Trainer Linda Rice plans on entering second place Woodward finisher Film Star. If Rice does enter Film Star, the Flatter sired runner will go off the favorite.

Happy American, King Fury, and Giant Game are contenders. O’Conner, Law Professor, and third place Pennsylvania Derby runner Il Miracolo will also garner betting dollars.

If Film Star doesn’t go in the Fayette, Rice will run Film Star in the Forty Niner. Film Star would likely battle Everso Mischievous from the Brad Cox barn for favoritism.

Connections for Swiftsure, Business Model, Double Crown, and Petulante plan on entering their runners. Among the four, Swiftsure might be the one to back. The Horacio de Paz trained equine looked great winning an allowance at Aqueduct on October 1.

Phil Bauer had flirted with entering Xigera in the BC Distaff. Bauer decided to run his 3 year old filly in the Mother Goose. Xigera has won 3-of-4 and should go off the chalk.

Defining Purpose must bounce back from a fifth in the Grade 1 Cotillion to contend. Todd Pletcher trained Julia Shining finished ninth in the Grade 1 Alabama in the last. If Pletcher has Julia at her best, she can win.

Street Sense Stakes | Grade 3

Last out maiden winners Informed Patriot, Parchment Party, and Gettysburg Address could be tough to beat. Brad Cox trains Gettysburg Address. So that one is likely to go off the chalk.

A couple of Kenny McPeek trained runners, Northern Flame and Generous Tipper, will attract backing. Moonlight, trained by Todd Pletcher, could offer overlay odds. Liberal Arts and Barksdale should also run.
