2024 NFC Playoffs Picture: In, Out, Upsets and Surprises

It’s been a wild and crazy year in the National Football League. Why did we expect anything different as we head down the home stretch of the season? 5 of the 7 spots are locked up in the postseason chase, with five teams still alive for the final two spots.

Let’s take a look at the wild NFC, and see who is in, who is out, some potential upsets and surprises. Here it is, the betting picture for the NFL playoff :

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-8: -5.5 at Carolina Panthers: 

Well, the Buccaneers did not do themselves any favors in Week 17 losing to the Saints. But, regardless of that, the Buccaneers need a win, and they are in. They own the tiebreaker over New Orleans based on best win percentage in common games. The Buccaneers would win the NFC South, and grab the 4 seed. They would then host whoever does not win the NFC East. Tampa Bay has one goal in mind for Week 18, beat the worst team in the league.

7. Green Bay Packers 8-8: -3 w/ Chicago Bears:

Green Bay looked great on Sunday Night, and now holds the 7 seed. But, they still have work to do. They are going to have to beat one of their biggest rivals in Chicago. The Bears have been playing great football as of late, and would love to knock the Packers out. A loss, and a win by either Seattle, New Orleans or even Minnesota could knock them out of the chase. Win over their rivals is all they need to do!

8. Seattle Seahawks 8-8: -3.5 at Arizona Cardinals:

Seattle had every opportunity, and fell at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. After playing so well to get back into the postseason chase, it is disappointing for Pete Carroll and his Seahawks. Seattle’s hope now is to beat the Cardinals, which they already did once this season, and hope for a Chicago win over Green Bay. But, first, the Cardinals are playing some decent football, after beating both the Cowboys and Eagles this season, so step 1 will not be an easy task on the road.

9. New Orleans Saints 8-8: -3.5 vs. Atlanta Falcons:

The Saints are going to need to beat the Falcons at home, and hope for a win from the team with the worst record in the National Football League. Carolina would need to beat Tampa Bay. Although, the Saints and Buccaneers could both get in with a scenario of them both winning; Chicago beating Green Bay and Arizona knocking off the Seahawks. A Lot to ask for. The Saints did step 1 beating the Buccaneers in Week 17 to stave off elimination.

10. Minnesota Vikings 7-9: +3 at Detroit Lions:

Basically, there needs to be a minor miracle for the Vikings to still reach the postseason. Somehow, someway it could still happen. But do not hold your breath. Minnesota looked horrendous on Sunday Night, basically ending their 2023 season.

There you have it. Those are our NFC Wildcard Odds & Betting Picks. Now, who is going to spots? Our final picks? Tampa Bay is going to win at home over the Carolina Panthers. We expect them to grab the 4th seed.  The 7th seed goes to the Seattle Seahawks. We are going to take the Chicago Bears to upset the Green Bay Packers on the road, and Seattle to beat Arizona on the road. The Saints game then does not matter, but we like them to beat the Falcons.
