MLS Matchday 19: June 17-22, 2023

New England Revolution vs. Orlando City SC | Big Week for Orlando

MLS Odds: New England -0.5 -121; Orlando City -0.5 +105 / New England -116; Orlando City +310; Draw +275 / O/U 2.5
Gillette Stadium | Foxborough, Massachusetts
Saturday, June 17, 2023, 7:30 pm ET

Orlando City is one of the teams hit hard by the international break. They lose leading scorer Facundo Torres and goalkeeper Pedro Gallese, and they have two games this week against top-four Eastern Conference teams.

Orlando City is unbeaten in their last six games, and they have two straight shutouts. They are the best road team in the MLS, with 14 points and 13 goals in seven games away from home. But that record will be put to the test on Saturday as they head to New England, unbeaten at home this season.

Orlando City has never won at Gillette Stadium, and MyBookie has them at +300 to win on Saturday. New England is -114 with a draw at +275.

On the heels of facing New England, Orlando returns home to face the other team tied for third place in the East, Philadelphia Union. Wednesday night’s game is the second meeting between these teams in 2023, with Orlando winning on the road 2-1 in March. Last year, Philadelphia won in Florida 1-0 and then routed the Lions 5-1 at home six weeks later.

The Union do not play this weekend and will be fully rested with 11 days between games as they head to Orlando. MyBookie has Orlando at +127 on the money line, with the Union at +197 and a draw at +295.

Nashville SC vs. St. Louis City | East-West Showdown in Nashville

MLS Odds: Nashville -0.5 -152; St. Louis -0.5 +119 / Nashville -147; St. Louis +390; Draw +295 / O/U 2.5
GEODIS Park | Nashville, Tennessee
Saturday, June 17, 2023, 8:30 pm ET

Two of the hottest teams in the league face off Saturday night in Nashville as St. Louis City FC makes their first-ever trip to GEODIS Park. While St. Louis has struggled on the road in recent weeks, they are atop the Western Conference and lead MLS in both goals scored per game and goal differential. Meanwhile, Nashville is second in differential, and they lead MLS in allowing just 12 goals in 17 games.

Hany Mukhtar is on fire for Nashville, with five goals and four assists in his last five home games. He is among the league leaders overall with ten goals and seven assists on the season and is a big reason why Nashville is attempting to set a franchise record with their 10th straight game unbeaten.

St. Louis has been awesome at home but scored only once in their last four road games. They will face a Nashville team without centerback Walker Zimmerman, and they will need keeper Roman Burki to be at his best against the Nashville attack.

MyBookie has Nashville at -147 on the money line with St. Louis at +390. A draw is +295 between the second-place team in the East and the top team in the West.

Sporting Kansas City vs, Los Angeles FC | LAFC Trying to Find Itself

MLS Odds: Kansas City +0.5 -190; LAFC -0.5 +148 / Kansas City +171; LAFC +156; Draw +244 / O/U 2.5
Children’s Mercy Park | Kansas City, Kansas
Saturday, June 17, 2023, 8:30 pm ET

The last month has been a disaster for LAFC. The defending champions were flying high atop the West and cruising through the CONCACAF Champions League before falling apart in mid-May. They have lost five of their last six games with a 0-0 draw to Atlanta mixed in, and they have also gone four straight games without a goal as they enter Matchday 19.

First up for LAFC this week is a trip to Sporting KC, who has won three of their last four games to climb from last place to ninth place in the West. SKC earned a 1-1 draw in Los Angeles in May, and four of their five wins this season have come at home.

LAFC is +168 to win in Kansas City, a place where they were 2-0 winners last year. SKC is +156 at home, and a draw is +250.

After the game on Saturday, LAFC returns home for a top-four showdown with Seattle Sounders on Wednesday night. The Sounders enter the matchweek two points ahead of LAFC, but they won’t play on the weekend and could be behind LAFC before this game.

LAFC has five wins at home this season but none since early May. Seattle is 3-3 on the road with two draws. They will be missing a few key players like Jordan Morris, Cristian Roldan, and Alex Roldan; all called up for the Gold Cup by their nations.

These teams drew 0-0 in Seattle on March 18, and at MyBookie, another draw is +244. LAFC is favored at -165, while Kansas Cityis +171 to take all three points after having ten days between games.
