NBA Week 20 Betting Picks & Predictions for this Weekend's Best Matches

NBA Week 20 Betting Picks & Predictions for this Weekend’s Best Matches

We’re now into March and about six weeks ago from the end of the 2022-23 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season. At this point, the standings are starting to take shape in both conferences, giving us an idea of what playoff matches we can expect. There’s plenty of intriguing games this weekend and perhaps a preview of some first-round playoff matches.

While there’s only six games on the schedule on a relatively light Saturday, there’s 10 games on Sunday. Marquee matchups include the Philadelphia 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks.

Let’s take a closer look at these and other games in Week 20 and provide you with the NBA top picks for this weekend.

NBA Betting Odds, Analysis and Prediction for the Weekend

Detroit Pistons vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

When: Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 7:30 PM EST
Where: Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio
TV / Streaming: BSOH

While it might not be a highly-anticipated game like some of the others this weekend, there’s certainly an opportunity to make some money on the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland could even be a double-digit favorite on Saturday, but I’d still take them to cover the spread.

The Cavaliers are fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 39-26 record. They’re also 26-7 at home, while the Pistons are a dismal 7-25 on the road and 1-9 in their last 10 games overall. Cleveland is 21-11-1 against the spread (ATS) at home, and the Pistons are 15-14-3 ATS on the road.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks

When: Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 8:30 PM EST
Where: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
TV / Streaming: ABC

This Saturday night contest is a battle of not only two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference but also two of the best teams ATS in the NBA. Philadelphia is 36-26 ATS, and Milwaukee is 35-24-3 ATS. The 76ers are 14-14 ATS on the road, and the Bucks are 20-11-1 ATS at home.

Milwaukee has won 16 games in a row and appears poised to win a second NBA title in three years. The streak is going to end soon and, while it may not be Saturday, expect the 76ers to at least cover the spread. They’ll likely be at least 2 or 3 point underdogs. The 76ers beat the Bucks in Philadelphia earlier this season and lost a tight 90-88 contest in Philadelphia.

Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks

When: Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 8:30 PM EST
Where: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
TV / Streaming: ABC

Dallas has won two games in a row against the Suns but, before that, the Suns had won 10 consecutive games against their Western Conference rival. However, throw out all past history between these two teams as they’ll look quite different on Saturday night.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving should meet for the first time with their new teams. The Suns are 1-0 with Durant, who had 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting in his debut with the team on Wednesday. Dallas, meanwhile, is 3-2 with Irving in the lineup and are coming off of an impressive 133-126 win over the 76ers on Thursday.

Phoenix is 34-28-1 ATS this season and 16-15-1 ATS on the road. The Mavericks are near the bottom of the league with a 24-38-2 record ATS. They’re 12-19-2 ATS at home. The best pick here is the Suns to cover the spread, especially with Durant returning to full health and rounding into form.
